Located on the shores of Lakes Michigan and Macatawa, Holland ushers in the change of seasons with warm Dutch hospitality.  Cobblestone sidewalks, Victorian streetlights and park benches invite shoppers to our award-winning downtown. Farm markets dot the area and orchards abound with fresh-picked produce. Fall festivals provide a unique backdrop to our ever-present windmills and wooden shoes. Sometimes going a world away doesn’t require a passport. Step on over to Holland, where a world of delight is Pure Michigan.

Tunnel Park Sunset

Tunnel Park, located on the shores of Lake Michigan, is a great place to catch a sunset. Climb the stairs to the top of the dune or take the concrete tunnel through the dune to get to the beach.

Windmill

Windmill
Visit Windmill Island Gardens and take a tour of a 250 year old authentic windmill. DeZwaan Windmill was brought to Holland in 1965 and is still used to grind flour. Tour five stories of the mill, listen to the Dutch Street Organ, stroll the lovely grounds and take a peek inside the tropical greenhouse.

Big Red at Dusk

Holland's Big Red Lighthouse, one of Michigan’s most photographed lighthouses, sits along the breakwater of Holland Harbor. Big Red has welcomed boaters to Holland for over 100 years. Visit the Holland State Park for a great view of the lighthouse and Lake Michigan’s famous sunsets.

Holland Civil War Reenactment

Holland Civil War Reenactment
Civil War Muster – September 17 & 18.  Return to Bull Run. Historic Van Raalte Farm hosts the re-enactment of the 1st Battle of Bull Run. This free event features two days worth of music, historic re-enactors, sutlers (period-style vendors) and, of course, the battle.

Attractions     
Enter the 19th century world of Dutch immigrants, talk to artists as they make authentic blue and white delftware or watch wooden shoe carving. Experience the arrival of the Dutch in 1847 at the Holland Museum, explore the Netherlands of the 1800’s on Windmill Island or cruise aboard Holland’s old-fashioned Victorian-style paddlewheel boat.

Beaches 
Lake Michigan’s beautiful beaches offer breathtaking sunsets--visit Holland’s Tunnel park or the Holland State Park for a walk on the beach and a sunset.

Accommodations
In Holland you can choose lodging that is close to downtown, shopping, or near the beach. Choose from Hotels, B&B’s, cottages or campgrounds.

Farmer's Market 
With over 50 vendors participating, the Holland Farmer's Market is every Wednesday and Saturday through November. Check out the variety of fruits, vegetables and specialty items.

Downtown Holland    
Downtown Holland is the place to be with one-of-a-kind shops, galleries, eateries and festive fall events! Groovewalk, live mannequin night and holiday events keep the downtown busy. 

Events  
Be sure to enjoy Holland's festive fall happenings. Latino films, art, music and culture come alive at Tulipanes, September 17 & 18. A Civil War re-enactment of the Battle of Bull Run occurs the same weekend. September 30-October 1, the Carve IV, with professional chefs and foodies competing in a vegetable carving competition.
