Van Riper State Park
Van Riper State Park consists of 1,044 acres right in the heart of moose country. It offers a sandy beach, hiking trails, boating with site access, and fishing. Modern and rustic camping. Two mini cabins and one rustic cabin are also available. Designated Watchable Wildlife Site, picnic area & pavilion, biking and hiking trails, hunting, as well as non groomed cross-country ski trails. Metal detecting areas. A rustic group campground is a new camping option that will be available this year at Van Riper State Park, located near the village of Champion in Marquette County. The new group campground is is located near the Peshekee River, about one mile west of the park’s modern facilities. The location provides easy access for fishing, canoeing, and the parks hiking trails.
a perfect “GO-Get Outdoors” opportunity for organizations such as churches, youth groups and scouting groups, who may prefer a more scenic location for camp outings.
