Snowboarding Long Ago

Snurfers can thank a man, Mr. Sherman Poppen, for creating one of the hottest winter sports on the snow scene today. Not familiar with snurfing? What's now known as snowboarding got its modern day start in 1965 on a hill in Michigan when a father joined two skis together so his daughters could "surf" down the snowy hill.
