There are 14 highway Welcome Centers that stand ready to welcome you to Michigan, including the new Detroit Welcome Center which opened in August 2008. The knowledgeable staff at these centers have been members of the hospitality industry for a long time, and are ready to answer your Michigan travel questions. Pick up many of the Michigan travel brochures, maps and guidebooks at the Welcome Centers, or let the travel counselors share their knowledge about Michigan's diverse travel offerings.
Note: All Welcome Centers will be open on the required state employee furlough days of June 19th, July 6th, July 24th, August 7th, August 21st, and Sept.4th. However, due to the furloughs, staffing and operational hours will be restricted on these days. We apologize for any inconvenience on these days.

Our Welcome Centers are well maintained. The grounds are beautiful and inviting. There are picnic areas to enjoy. The restrooms are kept clean, and our staff are always ready to assist you.
