Comerica Cityfest

June 30, 2009

in Fairs & Festivals

Today kicks off the Comerica Cityfest in the New Center area of downtown Detroit.  This annual event, which used to be ComericaFest Detroit from Flickrknown as Tastefest, is the perennial tastemaker for the city.  A mix of local restaurants participate, selling “tastes” of their menus, live music plays on 4 stages, and an eclectic marketplace features Detroit memorabilia.  Local artists are on hand, and there are events and attractions for everyone.  This festival gets better and better each year.  This year’s event will begin with a “raincheck” show, featuring the acts that got rained out last year.

Comerica Cityfest is a fun and affordable way to celebrate the holiday weekend.  Admission to the festival is free, and taste tickets are only $10 for 16 tastings.  If great food, great music, and the exciting vibe of a big city is your thing, come on down to Cityfest and enjoy the best of Detroit this weekend.
