  1. I just could not depart your website prior to suggesting that I actualky
loved the standard information an individual provide on your visitors?

  2. Carrots (or Daucus carota) are among the list of vegetables that are easy to
grow, tasty, high in nutrition, and can be easily added to our diet.
Lunch vegetable soup, boiled chicken breast (100 g), carrot salad with corn oil, a glass of plum

  3. That’s like Houston Texas being without a Country station. And once you have your own project that you want to promote, you must have considered the radio as one of the best alternatives to introduce your music to the crowds. You will need an outside antenna to get clear reception on your radio.

  4. Needless to say I felt that it was something that I would take a little time to explain and more importantly give some insights
into why it is so important to your business. The words in Tweets
are searchable so from a marketing standpoint it is
important to use words you want to be found, such as health, wellness,
pain or stress relief, etc. Twitter is one of the best methods
for seeing what is being said about an organization.

  6. Nexus Radio is one of the best free Internet radio programs
for the Windows 7 platform. They get their revenues only from the commercials and hence,
they charge nothing from their customers. While traditional radio broadcasters
have often used the Internet to advertise or promote their shows, Internet radio technology has actually revolutionized the concept and simple programming requirements have taken it
to the extent where individuals, organizations
or anyone for that matter, can easily host their own Internet
talk radio station from the comfort of their home.

  7. Hey there are using WordPress for your blog platform? I’m new to the blog world but I’m trying to
get started and create my own. Do you require any html coding knowledge to make your own blog?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

  8. Thanks for another wonderful post. Where else may just anyone get that type of
info in such an ideal method of writing? I’ve a presentation next week, and I’m on the search for such information.

  9. Hi i am kavin, its my first time to commenting anyplace, when i read
this piece of writing i thought i could also make comment due to
    this good post.

  10. WOW!, what a waste of time for all of those people trying to do pure Michigan some justice, just to see like the people above said someone win who applied the very minimal effort. I guess it pays off to be lazy! Next time I enter a contest this is example of my role model “do minimum effort to get an A+.”

  11. Congratulations to Megan, though I do agree with Jane Doe and Jennifer Decker–that “random winner” part is sad for those that actually tried to do their board justice. Some boards had 100+ pins, and the winner had 12. Just seems like great hash tag publicity for Pure Michigan on Pinterest. Learned my lesson: next time, if the rules don’t ask for quality, don’t bother with effort. Now I’m going to avada kedavra that board off my page. Kisses! Voldemort <3

  12. Congrats to the winner! FYI- The rules did indicate it was a random draw. She followed the rules to win.

  13. Congradulations to the winner of Pure Michigans Pin to Win contest. Mackinaw Island is truly a lovely place to visit. Thanks to Pure Michigan, Buick, The Grand Hotel, American Airlines, and Woods Restaurant for offering a awesome package that will surely be memorable. Megan Battaglia was randomly selected, as stated in the official rules, as the winner. Thanks to Pure Michigan for giving all the participants a peek into Mackinaw Island, an incentive to learn pinterest, and the opportunity to participate in an awesome contest.

  14. I agree with Jane, was so sad I spent days on my board. Not to be rude or spiteful but I also believe that someone who spent some more time and effort would may have been a more appropriate choice. Never mentioned anything about being a “random” drawing in the details above.

  15. Funny..the winner’s board did the bare minimum…some of these boards were beautiful and really captured “Michigan in Love”..if you’re going to do a Pinterest contest, do it right! Don’t randomly select someone and not even bat an eye at the boards! Very disappointed…

  16. Congratulations Megan Battaglia – you’ve been randomly selected as the winner of Pure Michigan’s Pin to Win: Michigan in Love contest! We’ll be in touch via email with details for obtaining your prize.

  17. The rules say the winner will be selected on or around March 7th. Good luck everyone! What a great prize.

  18. I love Michigan and I’m probably the only person in all of Michigan who has not been up north yet…I love following PURE MICHIGAN because I get to see how pretty Michigan really is and hopefully be able to plan a trip soon…I wish I could tell you my love story and how it all started and how the movie “somewhere in time” was our first movie we watched together and even though it was dorky, it made me fall even more in love with Michigan and the grand hotel! It would be a dream to win this contest and I’m glad for the opportunity to compete because I get to see all these pictures, hopefully get a chance to win and maybe even tell my amazing story.

  19. I’m from Michigan and haven’t been back to the UP in a while. I’d love to come and stay at the Grand Hotel and show my boy friend all over Michigan.
Thanks for the opportunity to win! Michigan is so pretty!

  20. Mackinac Island is a place that makes me feel like I am home. I was born and raised in Michigan and moved away for my husbands career. Whenever I cross the Michigan border, I instantly feel that I am where I belong. We stayed at the Grand Hotel in 2008 for a nice getaway and we always hate leaving. This past year has been a very trying year for us both financially and emotionally. My husband and I could use a vacation to reconnect with each other. After being with my husband for 17 years, you fall into a rhythm and sometimes need to take time away as a couple to remember why we fell in love. We would be so humbly honored and grateful if we won this trip. Thank you!

  21. #puremichigan Michigan is one of the most beautiful places I have ever been. We spent our honeymoon in St. Ignace and when we went to Mackinac Island I introduced my husband to the movie Somewhere in Time with Christopher Reeve and Jane Seymour. He told me that in the movie where they meet at the tree for the first time and she asks him, “Is it you?”, would be a wonderful place to renew our vows. We have always found that spot to be one of the most romantic and beautiful places in Michigan, along with the shore of Lake Superior.

  22. My husband and I love Michigan. We grew up braving the beautiful winters and playing on the shores of Lake Michigan in the warm summer breeze. As our lives and jobs have moved us out of the state we are constantly telling our new friends to get their buns up to Michigan and discover the beauty of the state for themselves. This would be the vacation of a lifetime, but really it would just add another awesome memory of Michigan to our lives.

    For your consideration:

  23. Pure Michigan is a way of life for Sean and I. We met in 2010 on Mackinac Island and have spent years visiting as much of this beautiful state as we can. This board describes our love story, in which Pure Michigan is very much a part of. Mackinac Island is forever a magical place for us and the Grand Hotel is one of the most beautiful places in Pure Michigan, and it would be a treasured experience to return on the circumstances of this contest.

  24. I Love Michigan! It is very romantic, from the beautiful fall colored leaves that fall as you take ride holding your love’s hand. To long cold nights that made you snuggle in front of the fire place. To spring days walking in the park and taking pictures while having a romantic picnic lunch. To hot summer days running on the beach holding your love’s hand watching the sunset. That must be why we have been married for 21 years.

  25. Hanging out at home or jumping in the car for a day trip, we never get tired of exploring Michigan, together.

  26. My favorite part of the state, which is Leelanau Peninsula and Traverse City. We love the land, the water, the air up there. We camped with our kids for over 15 years and then have been going there ourselves both as campers and as folks who stay in hotels or B and Bs for another 15. Wine tasting, sailing on the tall ships, hiking, sittin on the beach, biking, reading by the fire, shopping, taking part in one of the festivals. We love it all.

I was just thinking that we haven’t been to Mackinac Island in over 10 years and we need to go visit there again & stumbled on this contest! Mackinac Island is one of our country’s hidden gems. It’s peaceful, historic, beautiful in all seasons & in our own backyard. It’s one of the few places I’ve been to that never really changes: the lake shore, the quaint downtown, the elegant hotel, the fort, the bucolic bike path around the island – all maintain their charm visit after visit!

  28. Oops! I may have put my link in the wrong spot so I’m commenting again! Sorry! I’ve never been to Mackinac Island so I would love to get this getaway for me and my new husband!

  29. It seems every year our anniversary gets overlooked as preparations are made to celebrate our child’s birthday which is the next day (but she was not born the same year!). It would be fabulous to have a romatic getaway to truly celebrate the two of us.

  30. My husband and I honeymooned on Mackinac Island in August 2011. Some of our happiest memories are on that island. We loved the romance, the “step back in time” feel. From bicycle rides around the perimeter, to exploring the beautiful neighborhoods at the top of the hill, to rocking away an afternoon on the Grand Hotel porch…. the trip was absolutely divine.

We now have our first baby, and would love to enjoy a short, romantic trip while Adam spends some time with his grandparents!

  31. Love Michigan! Took the kids to Mackinaw Island last summer, Loved it. We make time to drive up to Michigan every summer to enjoy the clean beaches. It is a great family experience and I always refer Michigan beaches to my friends as a great getaway.

  32. I was raised in northern Indiana just a stone throw from the Michigan state line. My mother and I loved to cross over the line and explore the backroads of southern lower Michigan, particularly in the fall. I went to college in Michigan, met the love of my life in Michigan and we’ve raised our family in Michigan. My husband and I honeymooned in a motorhome up the east side to the island and back down the west side. Weve made the circle tour of Lake Superior and camped on Superior, Huron, and Lake Michigan. We watched our son marry the love of his life on a bluff overlooking Lake Michigan and watched him graduate with a PhD. from Ferris State. Our youngest is going to school in Michigan too. We have bought the home we will probably spend the rest of our lives in….in Michigan. And we haven’t even begun to see it all. But we plan to; together and In Love, In Michigan.

  33. Being from Michigan and recently moving to Ohio I would love a trip for 2 to revisit the mitten. I visit Traverse City yearly for a wine tour in the summer and have family that owns farm in Grayling. Mackinaw/Mackinaw Island has always been one of my favorite spots to visit, I just have not had the time nor the money to visit recently and I have never had the ability to afford a night at the Grand Hotel. Maybe my partner would use a nice trip like this to finally propose (I know the ring has been purchased, just waiting for the question to come!).

  34. My family has always traveled to Mackinaw Island every summer since I have been 3 years old. I have traveled all many places and Mackinaw Island is my favorite place to go. We have a bike race each year and winner buys dinner. It is a wonderful tradition that I hope to pass on to my family. I am getting married this summer and my dream is to get married on the island however we are on a very tight budget. Even if I cannot have my wedding on the island it would be amazing to have our honeymoon there!

  35. My fiance and I are getting married in May of 2014. We don’t have the money for a big honeymoon, and this would be great! Mackinac Island is such a fun place! It would be very romantic to go there with my husband.

  36. I learned how to love Michigan from my mother. She also taught we how to read maps, which has guided my husband and I many trips to the U.P. safely. The Island is magical! You can’t help but try to control time as the dear Richard Collier did and revisit the time you’ve had on the Island. I keep a constant weather report for the many places in the U.P. Copper Harbor for one and Marquette for another. I keep them so at any point I can close my eyes and create an image of perfection to steal me away for a moment. I love Michigan and all it has to offer!

  37. I grew up in Michigan and believe it is one of the most beautiful states in the country. In 1985 when I got married my husband and I danced to the theme song from the movie “Somehwere in Time” We fell in love with the movie and the Grand Hotel. We have wanted to make the Grand Hotel a destination for our anniversary but have never been able to make it. This would be the perfect anniversary “love get-away”, our own “Somewhere in Time”.

  38. Would love to win this trip, my husband and I spent one night of our honeymoon on Mackinaw Island in one of the smaller house hotels. He said he always wanted to take me to the Grand Hotel. The closest we have ever gotten is the porch, but even that was awesome!

  39. My husband and I are a young couple and started running and biking last year. Being active has taken us all over Michigan including Mackinac Island for the first time last year for the “zoo-de-Mack”. We would love to return for a romantic getaway! It doesn’t get any better than #puremichigan fun and adventure! Check out my pinterest

  40. Who doesn’t love Michigan!? So much beauty and fun things to do. A great place to grow up and raise a family. Hoping to win this for my son and his fiance for their honeymoon. They really want to go to Mackinaw Island.

  41. My husband and I took our 2 small children to the U.P. and visited Mackinac Island for the day. We promised each other to visit again someday when we’re rich and stay in the Grand Hotel. We dined there for the luncheon buffet – such a fun experience. The hotel is a beautiful piece of Michigan history. As residents, we have visited several Michigan spots – we love Pure Michigan! Thanks for this contest!

  42. To us the ideal Michigan “love” get-a-way is Mackinac Island. We honeymooned there 42 years ago back when the hotels had wood floors with throw rugs, shared bathrooms (we luckily had a private one) claw foot bathtubs (no showers) and metal beds–we loved it! We go back every year and sometimes more than once.

  43. No way, Florida. Not interested, South Carolina. I said” Yes!” to Michigan in 1989, and have never looked back. It is here I raised my children, found a career, and now, well into my fifties, a man to share all this with. We pack cameras and either bop around Michigan in my Buick Rendezvous (my neighbor and friend is a dealer! Woohoo, Clift Buick and Pontiac!), or pull a camper in his truck, and we are off to camp, color tour, or just bask in the beauty of our spectacular coastlines. We consider ourselves winners just to live and love here.

  44. Hi!

I had so much fun with this! I may have gotten a bit carried away, I chose to tell a story of what my romantic getaway on Mackinac Island would consist of. I kept it short and sweet with only 8 pins (quality not quantity), but it’s undeniable how many I could have pinned; our State is gorgeous AND romantic. Anyway, enjoy! And keep doing what you do for the State of Michigan, it’s fantastic!

    Happy and Proud Michigander,

    Kathleen Buchanan :-)

  45. WE LOVE MICHIGAN!!! My husband and I were born and raised here (52 years ago) and will never leave MICHIGAN!! We did most all of our vacations with our children, now 29 and 31. We have instilled MICHIGAN in their blood. They share the same love and continue the cycle!!

We first went to Michigan in 2010 on a spontaneous 4-day trip. While there, we visited one of my cousins who showed us some great parks, a lighthouse, good food and a great time! We loved it and went again in Sep. 2012 for our 43rd anniversary. Our plan was to go to Traverse City and then Mackinac Island, but we were having such a great time in Traverse City that we decided we’d have to wait to see Mackinac Island another time when we had more time to enjoy it. The people are always friendly, and the scenery is gorgeous. Hoping to go back soon!

  47. Northern Michigan was my childhood, I spent summers on Lake Charlevoix and Winters skiing at Boyne Mountain. As I have grown my love for Northern Michigan has as well.

  48. Have been married for almost 37 years now and would love to spend the weekend at the Grand Hotel. We’ve been to Mackinaw Island but have never stayed at the hotel. We love to vacation in Michigan.

  49. My boyfriend and I fell in love on the first date. We are looking forward to planning our future together soon. Neither one of us have visited Mackinac Island! We would love to go and its sad as Michigan natives we have never gone!

  50. Our family has been going to Mackinac Island since we were little. I love taking the ferry to the island and seeing the Grand Hotel come into view! My sister and her husband got married on the island and it was a memorable romantic weekend. I would love to stay at the Grand Hotel and sit on the famous porch to watch the world go by on bike, in old fashioned carriages, and dance the night away in the ballroom! I love Michigan!

  51. My husband and I were born and raised in the thumb of Michigan and moved out to Montana for a job opportunity. While it is beautiful out here, I often miss traveling up to Mackinac Island each summer like we used to. Would love the chance to go back!

  52. The first time I was om the island was in 1971 as a young child and I have been back a few times since,. It really is one of Michigan”s jewels!!!

(I would still be pinning if I wasn’t at work. )

  53. Born, raised and still living in Pure Michigan’s fantastic Upper Peninsula…I’ve completed my “Pin to Win” Board on Pinterest.
My husband and I are coming up on our 37th Wedding Anniversary; who wouldn’t enjoy a trip to Mackinac Island!?! We have 5 beautiful daughters and 13 fabulous grandchildren who also share our love of Michigan.

  54. My husband and I love the island. This would be a wonderful opportunity for us to do something special to celebrate our 5 yr. anniversary.

  55. I have lived in Michigan all my life and have begun exploring the beauty recently! Last summer we went to Sleeping Bear Dunes, Tahquamenon Falls, Munising and Marquette. We camped everywhere we went and did the Pictured Rocks Cruise which I highly recommend to anyone! Just this February we went to Curtis, MI and rented a cabin on Lake Manistique and saw the Ice Caves in Eben. Michigan has so many hidden secrets! I can’t wait to explore more. I would especially love to go to Mackinac Island and think that this is a wonderful opportunity!

I have been to Mackinac Island once and loved every minute of it! On the 23rd of this month, my husband an I celebrate our 5th wedding anniversary and today, the 28th we have been together for 10 years! He is my high school sweetheart and we have 3 beautiful children together. He serves our county and keeps it safe every night as a deputy and a well deserved romantic vacation woul make our year!

  57. With our farming it is so nice to go to Mackinac Island and get away and relax!! In the almost 19 years we’ve been in Michigan, we’ve only been there 2 times but we have enjoyed it both times!

  58. I grew up in Michigan and I’m always telling people what a great state it is. I left back in 78 to join the military but we now live in Alabama, but my family have a yearly trip when we can afford to go home to Pentwater. The kids have gotten their kids to love it too. So Michigan will always be part of our lives no matter where we are. But I have never been to Mackinaw Island. I have seen the bridge while traveling for work. I would love this to celebrate my 32 nd wedding trip. My husband and I never took one since we were both in the Air Force and money was always an issue back then. I would love to tell him of the most romantic place for our trip. Thanks for the chance.

  59. Love Michigan!! My husband and I would visit a different city for vacation a few times a year. We love to take the kids to different areas of Michigan. Can’t wait to discover more.

  60. What a wonderful giveaway this is! While I don’t have many pictures on my board currently, I will definitely be adding to it in the future! Thank you for this opportunity and this idea! My now husband and I took a mini 4th of July vacation to Mackinac Island right before he proposed back in 2010. It’s always been a dream to stay at the Grand Hotel though!

  61. We Love the Island, so relaxing! We have never stayed at the Grand while at the beautiful Island because the raising the children always came first.

Ready for another new experience on the Island

  62. My husband works out of town a lot and we had our 10 yr anniversary last October, because he was out of town we never were able to celebrate. I would love to be able to go to the beautiful Mackinaw Island!

  63. The breathtaking sights of Michigan are everywhere in this state. The Upper Peninsula and Mackinaw Island are the ‘Jewels’ of this state. One of my favorite spots is Honor, Michigan where you can take an exciting canoe trip on the Platte River. And afterward follow the river as it flows into the beautiful clear, cool waters of Lake Michigan. Michigan is rich with nature and also has a fascinating history. I love living here. I could live anywhere, but this is where my heart is, My Michigan.

  64. Thank you for the chance to win such a wonderful trip.
I got married when I was just 16 and my Husband 18 and we and did not ever get a honeymoon. My Husband and I have been blessed with 3 amazing sons and one Grandson that we are helping raise while my son and his fiancee’ work.
We have been married 27 years this May and have only had one over night
trip away from our children that was not work related.
My Husband was injured in a very bad accident five years ago, when he was working as a tow truck driver for the State Police, since then things have not been the same. A chance for a romantic get away is almost like a dream .

Our family saves all year and looks forward to 10 days at the beach on one of our Great Lakes.

We are happy to share this tradition with our Grandson, who we hope will want to carry it on when he has a family of his own one day.

    Making memories :)

    We love Michigan <3

Thank you again for this chance,
    Cj Hughes

  65. We live in paradise here in Michigan but sometimes when you live and work somewhere wonderful you rarely get a chance to travel to other parts of this wonderful state. We would love to win a romantic trip to the Grand Hotel, it would be dream come true! Thank you for the opportunity. Good luck everyone! Enjoy Pure Michigan!!

  66. The breathtaking sights of Michigan are everywhere in this state. The Upper Peninsula and Mackinaw Island are the ‘Jewels’ of this state. I love living here. I could live anywhere, but this is where my heart is, My Michigan. Michigan is rich with nature and with history.

  67. Northern Michigan is one of my favorite places. The beauty is outstanding and leaves you breathless. A romantic get away would be so appreciated, a opportunity to get to know one another again. Time without children, time to enjoy your spouse in one of the most beautiful places in the world…Northern Michigan, now that’s Pure Michigan.

  68. Our favorite “romantic” spot is Petoskey, Michigan where we began camping at Petoskey State Park many years ago. Charlevoix, Michigan and Fisherman’s Island State Park are a close second as far as favorite romantic places in Michigan. We love the outdoors, walking the beach, collecting rocks, swimming, campfires. One year we went rock hunting the last weekend of April at Cross Village Township Park. We learned never to go rock hunting that early in the year when my husband was walking our rock “treasures” back to the car. He walked over a seemingly sandy spot only to find out it was quicksand. When I joined him at the car, he was wet and sandy from the waist down and told me what had happened. He was pretty shook up and asked me to drive back to the hotel! We have many memories of Northern Michigan vacations together and with family.

  69. I moved to Michigan when I was 12 from Illinois. Before moving, we’d come up here for vacation. I met my husband here and got married here. This state is so amazing. My husband and I love getting into the car on a weekend and exploring. We’ve haven’t been to Mackinac for a few years now. I can’t wait to get back there!

  70. My husband and I were married in the Tea Garden at Grand Hotel and it would be so special to head back to the island with the help of Buick and American Airlines to celebrate! I can’t imagine a better way to spend our anniversary this summer than at Grand Hotel! How romantic!

  71. After getting married on the beach of Lake Superior in the Picture Rock National Lakeshore we spent my honeymoon on Mackinac Island. It was wonderful! We would love to go back.

  72. My fiancée and I have been friends over the years, all through high school and through college. I never realized how much he meant to me until I saw him playing in his band and realized that one day some lucky girl could snatch him up and steal away not just my best friend, but the person I finally found that I completely trust with my heart and start a life with.
The proposal happened when Brian and I went camping up at Tawas with his family. All during the trip I kept hearing about how great the lighthouse was and all his family keep on making sure that he guarantees that Brian would take me up there to see the sights. To be honest, after spending the beginning of Saturday going around town checking out the sights, going antiquing, and stocking up on all kinds of jerky I thought Brian completely forgot about going. At 5pm we started walking towards the lighthouse and talked about our hopes and dreams for the future and how we wanted to spend our lives together.
The closer we got to the lighthouse I thought perhaps something was up and thought at the same time to myself what a great way to propose. Brian knew I did not want it to be done in public with a lot of strangers around us and I wanted it to be private when the time came. I thought something was up and was going to search him and search all the pockets in his cargo pants, but decided he would not do it today. We started to go to the top of the light house and the coast guard was standing guard near the light bulb. The coast guard gives a couple minutes to look at the scenery of the lake and then out of the blue tells us that she forgot something downstairs and warns us that this is a million dollar light bulb and not to do anything.
After the coast guard descends the stairs Brian asks me how is the view and I tell him that it is really nice and as I turn around and Brian is on bended knee with the ring in his hand that we picked out earlier in the year together. I was in complete shock and it did not registered in my head that he was asking me to marry him! To be honest I really did not even recognize the ring in the hand as being the ring that I fell in love with. I start laughing and ask him “Are you serious?” Then I started crying and laughing at the same time and finally in a worried way he asks me “Is that a yes?” and that is when I accepted the proposal and been on cloud nine since.

Traveling and visiting the beautiful sights of Michigan has always been important to my family and to my fiancé family. I would like to win this contest because I think it would be a great way to start our lives together and start our honeymoon when we get married this year by visiting one of the top spots for romance in the state of Michigan!

  73. My husband and I were both born and raised in southern Michigan and then we moved to the upper peninsula after we’re married and we loved living there. Last year we made the hard decision to move to Nevada for work. We miss being in Michigan so much and dream about the day we can move back to our home. Winning this would be amazing as we celebrate our 6th wedding anniversary this year.

  74. Hello! Please see my below link to my Pin to Win board! I grew up in Michigan and every summer my family would take a vacation to Mackinaw City and sometimes head out to Mackinac Island. I now live too far away from the state I call home and typically visits back are so packed down-state with visiting all the loved ones I never get to see so I never have the chance to enjoy what I love about Michigan. It has been over 10 years now since I’ve been up to Mackinaw and I would LOVE the opportunity to go again and bring my better half along to experience the beauty of it all =).

  75. We are Michigan fans…..Larry was born in Flint manyyy years ago….We will soon be celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary and would love to go back to the Grand Hotel for a stay…..Fun memories…..

  76. I have created my Pin to Win: Michigan in Love Board on my Pinterest site! What a fun event. 5 of us toured around Michigan this past summer, including Mackinac Island, Sleeping Bear Dunes and the Lelanau Penninsula. And, my hometown is Kalamazoo. So, Michigan has been a part of my life always. Beautiful state.

  77. I love the Island and the Grand Hotel…..hve had to move to Texas and so miss my beautiful Michigan…..The Island is the only place to relax and sit a spell and take in the view of the lake….OH I soooooo miss you!!!!!

  78. We spent a day of our honeymoon on Mackinac Island, returned on our 10th anniversary. This year is our 25th anniversary and would love to return to Mackinac Island! Always one of our favorite places!

  79. I love the Island and the Grand Hotel….have had to move to Texas and so miss my beautiful Michigan……The Island is the only place to relax and sit a spell and take in the view of the lake……OH I sooooo miss you!!!!

  80. We love love love, the Island and especially the Grand Hotel. We love seeing pictures of the days activities…even in the off season.

Born and Raised in Northern Michigan now living in Thermopolis Wyoming. I miss Michigan, I miss the smells and the beaches and the colors. I miss taking a vacation every summer just to drive up North to Mackinaw City and take the ferry to the Island. That smell of horse poop and fudge never gets old and no matter how many times I have toured the Island, it never ceases to amaze me.
This trip would be amazing!! Just to go back home to see the beaches and colors, smell those smells and hear those waves crashing again would be so relaxing.

  82. My husband and I visited Mackinac Island as newlyweds and had a great day exploring the island on foot. We recently revisited 20 years later with our two children and spent the day there as well – so fun and memorable !! Would love to spend the night on the island at some point – maybe our next trip will include a night at the Grand Hotel !!

  83. my husband i were married almost 33 years ago this Oct. With being young, newly married young couple, we never had a honeymoon.
Although I grew up in CA, i love living in MI. We have so much to see and do in our state. This past year, we finally made it to the UP and had the joy of taking our grand kids to Mackinaw Island for the 1st time.

  84. I grew up in Michigan and left in 1981. I will always call Michigan “home”. What I miss the most are the four seasons, especially the good ole Michigan summer time! Please take me home to the place I belong!

  85. My husband and I were married in 1998 at Mission Point. We enjoyed ballroom dancing at the Grand Hotel on our wedding night, a beautiful midnight carriage ride, and dinner the following night. We love returning to Mackinaw to relive our fantasy week spent there almost 15 years ago! This would be a great year to return in style! Hope we win!!!!

My grandfather and his brothers opened 2 copper mines in the UP. After meeting my husband and traveling to the UP to visit my grandparents he has become very interested in the history of our state and the many beautiful cities in Michigan. I would love to give him a vacation he so desperatly needs right now and Mackinaw Island would just bring him to tears.

  87. My husband and I spent our honeymoon in Saint Ignace. We had a wonderful time visiting the island, parasailing by the bridge, visiting Whitefish Point, Tahquamenon Falls, horseback riding, and visiting Oswald’s Bear Ranch. 2 years later, we are expecting our first baby and would just LOVE to win a getaway for our babymoon.

  88. Fell in love with Michigan on a trip a few years ago. Would so love to have a romantic getaway on Mackinac! Celebrated my wedding anniversary this month and we weren’t able to afford to do anything so this trip would be so fantastic!!! Here’s my link:

I have a “Michigan Dreaming” board too where I post all my inspiration for future visits. :-)

  89. Just entered the contest! Getting married in a week and a half and would love to go back “home” to Michigan for a honeymoon!

  90. It’s wonderful that the sponsors gathered together to offer a dream holiday to lucky participants! All participants have their own special and worthy reasons for wishing to win such a lovely grand prize. Thank you Pure Michigan, Grand Hotel, Buick, American Airlines and Pinterest!

  91. My husband and I live in Antrim County with our two young sons (and one more on the way!). We love to camp and enjoy the outdoors but have never taken the boys to Mackinac Island. It would be such a treat to enjoy this vacation as a family!

  92. I miss Michigan so much, And would love so much to be able to go back since I haven’t been there in over 20 years!!

  93. I grew up in Michigan and spent many summers on the enchanting Mackinaw Island. My husband has never been there and I would love for him to experience it’s wonder. My page is and the pins are under pin to win Michigan in love.

  94. My husband were born and raised in Michigan! We moved away for a couple of years, but took the first opportunity to move back as we missed the lakes and 4 seasons!!! There is nothing like a Michigan summer !!!

  95. We went to Michigan 2 summers ago and LOVED IT! Did not make it to Mackinac Island. Would be wonderful to have a trip like this for just my husband and myself!!!!! :)

  96. Hubby & I went to Mackinaw for our honeymoon 25 yrs ago and just recently returned for our 25th Anniversary in Sept 2012. I would love to spend a couple days there again soon with the hubby, don’t think I would ever get tired of it. Have never stayed on the Island but it would be awesome to get to do this some day.

  97. 22 Years ago my husband and his family took me here. It was truly a relaxing and one of the most beautiful places I’ve been. Now that he is out of the Army this is were we would like to take our First true Vacation.

  98. My father was born in Manistee, MI and my mother from Garden City. They met and fell in love in Manistee while working at the Ramsdell Theatre. I was born in Maryland and because my father was in the Navy, we moved constantly. We lived in Virginia and in California. When he finally retired my parents wanted to settle in the state they both called ‘home’…Michigan. I finally had a place I could allow myself to feel connected. I love this state and everything it has to offer. And now it is my time…while attending Central Michigan University I met the guy I want to spend the rest of my life with. He is from Traverse City and has the same love for this state as I do. We see so many opportunities for adventure and exploration. We make every moment count and appreciate the beauty of Pure Michigan.

  99. Michigan is a romantic place anytime of year! Camping, hiking, spending a day at the beach, a walk in the snow, or enjoying a Michigan Beer or Wine for two :)
My husband proposed to me at Greenfield Village during the Holiday Nights celebration and it was amazing! I would love for us to have a romantic weekend away at the Grand Hotel (we have dreamed of staying there but have not been able to!). We both love Michigan and are still traveling and visiting new places every year to experience everything our great state has to offer.

  100. Michigan is the best state for vacations, romantic gettaways or family trips. From the beaches to the forrests you can find something for everyone! There are Michigan gems around every bend!

  101. Born and raised in Metro Detroit, always vacationing on a lake near Alpena, and now at school at CMU – where I’ve managed to find an amazing guy who just might be the love of my life! It’d be great to take him to Mackinaw, since neither of us have been there since we were little. This would be such a romantic weekend. So much love in the mitten! :)

  102. No matter the season, romance can always be found in Michigan. Romance can be found while biking through Mackinac Island during the Lilac Festival in late spring, sailing on Lake Michigan in summer, camping in a two man tent in one of our beautiful National Forests in the fall, or while taking a thrilling dogsled ride together in the winter. #puremichigan.

  103. My husband and I were married on Mackinac Island 10 years ago at the Little Stone Church…would love to return and celebrate!! Staying at the Grand Hotel would be an amazing experience!!

  104. I am in love with my husband and am in love with my home state, Michigan. Nothing would be more perfect than to share it with him in a spot where if we were to seek a pleasant peninsula all we would have to do is look about us to see both of them. The Grand seeks to create summer memories for their guests and we have plenty of grand memories to make!

  105. I reside far from the state I love but my heart continues to long for the peaceful beauty that Michigan offers. As a previous Honor Guard Scout for the Governor of Michigan I can say without a doubt Mackinac Island holds a very special place in my heart. Pure Michigan…Pure Love! There is nothing better!

  106. Mackinac Island is one of my favorite places in Michigan! I have been there more times than I can count, as I live in Michigan. I love the atmosphere and there are so many spectacular things to see. It has always been a dream of mine to stay at the Grand Hotel (love Somewhere in Time)!

  107. I miss living in Michigan, but I love being a proponent for all of those looking for a great place to visit. Northern Michigan is just beautiful, I wish I could visit more!

  108. I am a 9th generation Michgander! Even though my family moved away when I was a child, my love for the mitten state runs thick in my blood! I would love to take my CA native husband on a romantic trip to introduce him to this wonderful state.

  109. I absolutely love living in Michigan, love all that it has to offer. The seasons, the beaches, the forests, the cities, the architecture, it truly is a beautiful state. We have so much to offer and many people are surprised to see how beautiful Michigan really is. No need to fly away for a vacation, just take a drive up north! And I honestly do not believe any place could be more beautiful or enjoyable in Michigan than Mackinac Island. It really is the most romantic place to get away to but also a wonderful family vacation. These are some of my most favorite things about our magnificent state as well as some of the places I look forward to experiencing some day ~ <3 ~

  110. Many family vacations have been enjoyed in Mackinaw. We’ve always considered it our “second home.” I’ve been blessed to visit the island many times but have never stayed over night. Would love to have the opportunity! It’s such a beautiful, fun, and relaxing place to vacation!

  111. My husband and I were married in our hometown of Lapeer on June 13, 1987. We were denied the chance at a honeymoon due to the US Navy restricting his leave time. He had been assigned to “medical” due to a seizure he had during an inspection on board his boat in FL. It truly was a boat; it was a Mine Sweeper. Our plans were to spend 5 days on Mackinac Island for our honeymoon, but were unable to do so because of the time restraint. I sadly spent a year making plans and scheduling and picking everything out on my own, because during that time he was stationed in Italy. Then he was assigned a duty station in FL. We almost had to cancel our whole wedding because the Doctors were not going to let him come home until they could figure out what caused his seizure (they never did figure it out). With the help of his XO he was cleared to come home to wed, but had to get right back. Last year was our 25th anniversary, and we were unable to do anything special then either; this time due to recovering physically, financially, and mentally from a serious medical diagnosis of my own. It would be wonderful if this whole journey were able to come full circle and we were given the opportunity to go to Mackinac Island for our “Honeymoon” 26 years later.

  112. I have never been to Mackinac Island before but have always heard many wonderful things about it and seen many beautiful pictures of the Grand Hotel as well as the islnad itself! Would love a weeknd getaway :)

  113. I absolutely love Northern Michigan. Spending summers on Lewiston has been the way I relax and unwind. I can’t wait for my summer vacation to see more of what #puremichigan has to offer

  114. Mackinac Island has been my DREAM vacation since I saw “Somewhere in Time” back in the early 80′s. I had a friend that visited there, and brought me back a framed picture of the Grand Hotel. I’ve been following “Bree’s” Mackinac Island blog for a couple years now. I just love the thought of stepping off the ferry on to the island, and stepping back in time! Horses, bicycles, fudge, peace & quiet…ahh, what more could you ask for???

  115. My “Pin to Win” is finally complete! There are so many places and things we like to do!. Travel, eat, wine, dine, dancing, picnics on the beach, walking through the woods…Michigan has it all. We like to enjoy nature and all its beauty no matter where we are. Everyday is special to us. We’ve waited over 20 years to be together struggling and jumping through the hoops of life. Finally our wish is coming true. Just waiting on the wedding now.

  116. What a wonderful opportunity it would be to visit the lovely state of Michigan and spend a romantic weekend with my sweetheart. With four children at home, it is difficult to find time for romance. This would be the perfect opportunity for us!

  117. This year will be our 22nd anniversary and we have three teenage children. We took up camping, years ago, as an economical way to take family vacations and have never had a desire to go anywhere else but our own home state of Michigan…it’s scenery and locations just can’t be beat. We’ve always wanted to go to Mackinaw Island, but just haven’t been able to. It would make an wonderful anniversary trip this year!

Here’s the link to my Pinterest page:

  118. I entered earlier in the contest. I hope my name is drawn, I would love to spend some alone time with my husband on Mackinac Island! we take care of my 4 grandsons!

  119. I have always wanted to stay at the Grand Hotel. What a wonderful way it would be to celebrate my husband and I’s first wedding anniversary in the state where I was born and raised. I will always be proud of my home state and would be love to show off even more of it to my husband.

  120. The Grand Hotel and Mackinac Island hold such wonderful memories for us. Remembering the astonished faces of our children as the ferry sped to the distant island. Their joy at the downtown area with its horse drawn carriages and bicycles. The family coming together to ride bikes around the island and through the woods. We’ll always remember the laughter and adventures. It was also a place of romance and nature’s beauty. We are celebrating our 44th Wedding Anniversary this summer and would love the opportunity to relive the magic.

  121. My parents went to the Grand Hotel in 1975 for their wedding anniversary and I am getting married this year and would love to carry on that tradition! They absolutely fell in love with the hotel and the island. I was born and raised in Michigan and there is nothing more spectacular to me than Mackinaw Island and its history. Pure Michigan commercials are the best thing that has happened for Michigan’s tourism!!

  122. My boyfriend and I have been wanting to take a vacation for some time now, but we haven’t been able to save up the money with all of our expenses and student loan payments. I was born in Michigan and he was born in Toronto. He is now working two jobs trying to get his career moving and I am working full time while going to graduate school. Neither of us have been to Mackinaw and would be ecstatic to spend a romantic weekend there to get a break from our everyday lives!

  123. Michigan beaches are my husband and my happy place. We both grew up camping and spending family time there. We now have passed that love onto our children and we continue to love to camp and spend most of our summer on the Michigan beaches. We would love to renew our vows on a Lake Michigan beach…what a beautiful romantic way to share our love for each other and our love for Michigan.

  124. Got married at the Grand Hotel garden on July 21, 1982. Would love to come back. Would make a great 31st anniversary present for my husband who really misses Michigan. Renew our vows from long ago, 2 kids, 2 grandchildren, 3 states and 4 houses ago.

  125. My husband and I got married on October 12th, 2012 in Traverse City Michigan at Bowers Harbor Inn (i grew up in Traverse City and always loved that house). After being together for 9 years and making it through our second attempt at having a perfect Michigan wedding, we succeeded. It was the most beautiful, picture perfect Michigan fall day. Sunshine broke through the rain and clouds, producing a 55 degree sunny day. Unfortunetly, we have yet to go on a hunnymoon, and it will probably be a while before we are able to. Neither our families or us, ourselves, could afford to put together a hunnymoon, so it will have to wait. It would mean so much, simply beyond words, to us to be able to finish off our perfect Michigan wedding with the perfect Michigan hunnymoon. Thanks!

  126. My husband and I are celebrating our 10 year anniversary together this year and want to take an adults only vacation. We are adventurers looking for a get-away that involves things to do and relaxation. Michigan provides beautiful natural landscape and history. We were planning on going here even before seeing the contest but this trip would make it ideal. Can’t wait to pack my DSLR and take pics to document our trip so that we can share it with others!

  127. I think Mackinaw Island is one of the most romantic places in the world. My husband and I woud love to win this trip. We would use it as a second honeymoon. Nine years ago our first one was interrupted when I had to have emergency gall bladder surgery.

  128. My husband and I care for our wonderfully sweet and severely disabled child, and vacations are few and far between. The Grand Hotel on Macinac looks like paradise.

  129. I’ve lived in Michigan all my life and there is still so much to discover! There’s something here for couples, families, photographers, campers, hikers and even for the times when you’re in the mood for something elegant.

  130. My husband of 33 years and I have lived in Michigan all our lives. I lived in Kalkaska for a few years as a child and have been to the Mackinaw Bridge many times and over to the Island only once. My husband has never been. I believe this is our summer to go visit this beautiful place.

  131. Born and raised in Michigan, nothing feels more like home than a day spent in a State Park, on a beach, or on a sailboat. There is something remarkable about being surrounded by nature. You can’t help but fall in love with it.

  132. This would be a dream come true for my husband and I. We didn’t have much of a honeymoon after we got married, so for our 6 month wedding anniversary, we took a long weekend camping trip up north and were able to spend 1 day on the island. More than once we said we would love to go back and be able to stay in the Grand Hotel. We both work full-time and go to school full-time and I would love to surprise him with this getaway!

  133. I have now visited the Michigan area a few times and I have fallen in love with the beauty, memories and magical photography opportunities that it has to offer…

  134. I have now visited the Michigan area a few times and I have fallen in love with the beauty, memories and magical photography opportunities that it has to offer…

  135. I want to retire someday in Michigan, but for right now I have to enjoy my vacation trips in Michigan. We have been dating for about two years now. We have been exploring all that Michigan has to offer. So far, I’ve been to Michigan three times not including the “million” times that I used the airport in Detroit. One time to visit his parents at their home on Black Lake, another time to go to a class reunion in Detroit and a vacation in the Mackinaw City area. Each time I’ve felt at “peace” with the world. I am a photographer and there is so many beautiful things to capture on film. In April, we will be taking our first week long trip together in Michigan. Being in Lansing to do some genealogy research then up the west coast. I can’t wait!!

  136. I first visited Mackinac Island, Michigan when I was 9 with my family and I always remember about how much fun I had around the island. As a grownup, I revisited remembering all the fun, yet now as an adult, I saw the romantic beauty and the quiet peaceful surrondings. I always find my way back to to Mackinac Island in my dreams.

  137. I would love to win this trip. We have a baby on the way and a 3 year old so getting a romantic trip with my husband would be a wonderful experience. Michigan is such a beautiful state and hopefully one day I can experience it.

  138. I lived in Michigan my whole life and is currently in Florida with my Fiance for schooling and are planning on moving back up there once he is finished. He has been to Mackinac Island when he was a child and I have yet gone there though I would really like too. We both know Michigan is our only home and lately with bills and everything we haven’t even had the money to get back up there for the holidays or anything.

  139. hello!
my now fiance and I LOVE Michigan and have been going to traverse city now for 3 years! We stay on spider lake and have done all types of day adventures into fish town, Leland, sleeping bear dunes, wineries, and of course the amazing light houses.
I have also been a person to go south, but he has opened my eyes to the beauty of the north and have since gone every year including when he proposed to me last May at Old Mission! We are getting married this May and would love nothing more but we be able to go to one of the places in Michigan we have not been able to make it to, mackinac island!
We have had the most amazing experiences in Michigan and have referred everyone we know to take trips there in their life or else THEY ARE MISSING OUT!
we love the “mit” and would love to be able to return this year after our wedding to experience one of the most amazing places in Michigan that we have not had the luxury to enjoy!
check out our amazing pin boards and if nothing else give props to Dan and Melissa Photography out of Traverse that did our engagement shots all over your area!!

  140. Michigan has so much to offer for every season. The natural beauty of this Great Lakes state makes it one-of-a-kind, and is why I love it! Everyone should experience PureMichigan!

  141. Even tho I was born in Michigan, I traveled alot growing up. I can honestly say that of all the places I have been, there is nothing more relaxing and peaceful than the state of Michigan. I have often wondered what it would be like to stay at the Grand Hotel and tour Mackinac Island for more than a few hours. I love taking pictures and there is so much beauty in the northern part of Michigan. To spend time with my husband who has been busy working on his dissertation and teaching as well, over the past 5 yrs…in hopes of graduating in June, and taking pic’s of surrounding nature…that would be the perfect vacation.

  142. I was born and raised in Michigan. Can’t imagine living anywhere else. Love all for seasons and all the natural wonders we have in this beautiful state. I have a special place in my heart for Mackinaw. Would love to share the place with my fiance!

  143. I absolutely love Mackinaw Island and the Grand Hotel! As a member of MRPA we have enjoyed such a great partnership with these Michigan Hot Spots. I’m hoping that I get picked so that I can take my boyfriend there, who has never stayed at this awesome hotel.

  144. Would love to win this amazing getaway. I’m originally from northern Wisconsin and we used to take family vacations to the Island when I was a child (that’s when I fell in love with Mackinac). Plus, my husband and I were married on Mackinac almost 4 years ago at the Somewhere In Time gazebo high on the bluff. So romantic. It snowed that early May morning, but turned into a beautiful day I couldn’t imagine taking place anywhere else.
We’re living in Texas now so I truly miss the northwoods! Michigan is my happy place. The vineyards in Traverse, the fresh produce, pasties in the UP, lighthouses to explore, camping on the shores of Lake Michigan with the kids, waterfalls, etc. When I’m in the mitten, I’m in heaven.

  145. My hubby and I are Yoopers at heart and have never visited Mackinac Island! My hubby has done a couple tours overseas and his favorite thing about coming home was seeing the change in the Fall colors! Mackinac Island in the fall would be such a romantic treat!

  146. When I was younger my family named me the nomad of the bunch – I couldn’t stay in one place for over a year. I always found myself coming home though. Michigan is my home, always has been and always will be. The state has a certain draw and true Michiganders have that connection with it no one else will understand. We have every option under the sun for a healthy lifestyle and amazing getaways. This is where I will stay because this is where I belong.

  147. I love all that Michigan has to offer for vacations, we have even picked a vacation just from the pictures off the Pure Michigan website when we went to the Silver lake sand dunes and we had a blast! :)

  148. I love Michigan – I have lived here my whole life and can’t imagine being anywhere else. I love Northern Michigan and have lived in a number of towns up north – my favorite being Charlevoix! I love my state!

  149. I love Michigan and I love Mackinac Island. There’s no place like Mackinac Island, and I would go there every year if I could. And I would LOVE to actually be able to stay at the Grand Hotel. We haven’t done that yet!

  150. Love the State of Michigan and “Pure Michigan”. I have lived here all my life and have always dreamed of staying at the Grand Hotel! It would be the perfect way to begin my husband’s retirement and celebrate our anniversary!

  151. Moved back to Michigan 10 years ago. Still love the awesome scenery. I missed and now truly enjoy the harvest times. I’ve already marked my calendar for this year, starting with asparagus.

  152. I’m getting married in June!! This would be our perfect honeymoon! We love everything Michigan and love going to Mackinac Island yet have not had the opportunity to stay at the Grand Hotel.

  153. I have never been to Mackinac Island and I’ve lived in Michigan my whole life!!! My boyfriend and I just moved in together and plan on going sometime this summer!!! I would LOOOOOVE to win this competition so I can go there for the first time!!!!!

  154. I’m a born and raised Michigan girl, and I wouldn’t have it any other way! I have been so blessed to live in such a beautiful state and to be going to school in Detroit at such an exciting time. <3

  155. Our entire family of 22 would spend a week on Mackinac Island every summer! We enjoyed riding the trails, hanging out at Fort Holmes, lodging at The Island House, sipping coffee at The J L Beanery, having picnics at Great Turtle Park, eating fudge and ice cream from Ryba’s, and swinging on the swings at the school for the best view of the Bridge.

  156. I am fortunate to live on a piece of property that has been in our family since before Michigan was a state. When we go on vacation, it is always ‘Up North’. With all the places we have gone in this great state of ours, we have camped, hunted, fished, mushroomed, hiked, picked blueberries, run dog sleds, watched the sunrise and watched it set, we have never spent the night in the Grand. “It would be grand to spend a night in the Grand.”

  157. I am fortunate to live on a piece of property that has been in our family since before Michigan was a state. When we go on vacation, it is always ‘Up North’. 158. I love Mackinaw! My parents went on their honeymoon there in 1967, and took us back there with them every year.
My husband and I stayed there for our first year anniversary. But I would have loved to be married on the usland. I’ve always wanted to stay at the Grand Hotel. One day…I will. Mackinaw is Majestic.

  159. Love this contest- Love Michigan! I have been having so much fun looking for all of the pins and seeing the amazing photos of Michigan. Trip planning is taking a new turn this year with Pinterest!

  160. The Grand Hotel is our favorite vacation spot. My husband and I would love to spend a weekend there without the kids! That would be a first!

  161. There is nothing more needed right now then a stay -cation. I love my state and would love to see the island in the winter!

  162. I was born in Michigan over a half century ago. I believe it is one of the most beautiful states of the 50 in the United States of America. I have visited most of the areas from Monroe to Copper Harbor and I am fortunate to live close enough to be able to spend time in #puremichigan every year for vacation.

  163. What a great opprotunity! I’m teaching abroad in Shanghai, China and would love to spend some time unwinding on the beautiful island when I return home. I’ve visited Macinack before, but never had a chance to stay at the Grand Hotel. What an exciting competion! I really enjoyed making my pin board, I think I’ll keep it going after the contest is over :) #puremichigan

  164. I love supporting my home state. We have a beautiful state and we have lots of wonderful things to offer. I was born in Michigan and I think our state has the most unique shape of any of our 50 states. I love traveling our state. Our “Pure Michigan” has a great educational back ground.

  165. I spent my childhood summers in Northern Michigan and I am always anxious for the next time I can go back. I can’t wait to take my boyfriend and show him what it’s all about.

  166. Growing up in Michigan was an awesome blessing !! Any season, any location in Michigan leads to romance. Beauty is around every corner. Every sense can be filled. From the beauty of it’s natural scenery, that feeds the eyes. To the gentle lapping of it’s shoreside waves, making music to your ears. Tasting the bounty of Michigan’s splendid fruit and experiencing the heart warming welcome from it’s natives….Romance…yes! Hopefully, I have communicated that I have a great love for my Michigan!! I miss my home ! I have never had the opportunity to enjoy the Island or the Grand Hotel. To win a getaway there would be an experience to fill my heart !!

  167. Michigan is the best state for traveling. You have all four seasons and so many beautiful lakes and parks. Pure Michigan!

  168. I love Michigan and everything here is romantic. I have lived here my entire life and never had dinner at the Grand Hotel. Would love to spend a romantic getaway with my wonderful husband there.

  169. What a great idea for a contest! I miss Michigan! I grew up in the northern lower peninsula, and it really is the most beautiful place on earth.

  170. I spent time staying on my grandparent’s boat in the Mackinac Island State Harbor every summer as a kid. I have the best memories of bike & horse riding, touring the fort and fudge, of course! I would love to take the person I love back to experience #PureMichigan!

  171. Michigan is a wonderful treasure, if I can get outside, see the beauty in my own backyard and never be more than 30 minutes from some fresh water, I’m a happy girl. I have grown up in this beautiful state and am so thankful to have been able to travel as much as I have. Although Mackinaw is still on m bucket list! I am getting married this summer and a chance to check off and visit Mackinaw Island would be unreal. Check out my Pinterest board and see a lot of my own photos from some of my travels thus far around this exciting state.

  172. Michigan in the eyes of the beholder! Whether it is enjoying a walk in the sand, walking along a Michigan pier at sunset or attending a U of M football game, the joy and beauty this great state has to offer amazes me always! Each adventure has it’s own experience.

  173. I would love to win this contest. My husband and I took my first trip to the UP when we started dating 15 years ago. This is when we fell in love. We have been married for 13 years this June and I would love to visit it again for our anniversary. When we visited Mackinac Island my favorite thing to do was to go horseback riding together. Next time i want to stay at the Grand Hotel. We were both born and raised in Michigan and we are truely blessed to be Michiganders. I love living in the most beautiful state of all.

  174. I am a military brat. I grew up all over. I’ve been lots of beautiful places but none compare to the beauty of Michigan. From downtown Detroit with Comarica Park and the “Star Gate” to the quiet stillness of the forest to the roar of the Falls, Michigan is the BEST. Natural beauty in ALL seasons. Sipping hot cocoa at the fire and cuddling as we watch the snow fall. Watching the sunset over Lake Michigan as we share a picnic on the beach.
Fireworks over the Cascades….seeing fireworks as we kiss.
Camping at one of Michigan’s state parks in the fall, roasting hot dogs and eating s’mores. Love is better in Michigan.

  175. There are so many places to see and things to do in Pure Michigan. We went on our honeymoon up north 36 years ago and would love to go again. Staying at the grand Hotel would be a dream come true.

  176. Our family heads up to Mackinac Island every year for the 4th of July. It is like stepping back in time, where every thing slows down just for the weekend. Our children participate in the picnic and carnival at the Grand Hotel and swim in the pool with their “4th of July” friends. We bike around the island and stop halfway for fried pickles (yes, they are good) at the rest stop. The Children wear themselves out and head to bed…Then my husband and I sip wine on the beautiful porch of the Grand Hotel. The next morning…time to get some yummy fudge then ride horses…It would be nice to visit Mackinac just my husband and I…just once. We hope you pick us!

  177. One time, long ago, I strolled into the Grand Hotel. I didn’t take the tour…I just walked in and looked around. I walked upstairs to the cupola and there was a grand piano, just begging to be played…. so I did. In a matter of minutes several hotel guests wandered in, and I gave them a little piano concert. One of my most memorable moments…

    I love my Michigan.

  178. I have lived in Michigan over 60 years – I love the changing scenery that comes with each season. The lakes, the trees…..winding roads and pathways, fields, farms, sunrises and sunsets. And the architecture from rustic farmhouses and barns, to cozy B &B’s, to substantial stone edifices, to intriguing lighthouses. I’m still taking it all in! My husband and I haven’t had a vacation in 12 years. Relaxing in the Grand Hotel and exploring the beauty on Mackinac Island would be such a joy!

  179. Michigan is a beautiful place with lots of things to do and see during all seasons. My fiance and I would love to win a trip to Mackinaw. We do not have much alone time together since we had our son, so it would be great.

  180. We have been married over 32 years. We celebrate our anniversary in Mackinac and the surrounding areas as often as we can. It is definitely one of our favorite places. We always seem to find a new spot we have never been to before. One of the things on our “to-do wish list” is to be able to stay at The Grand Hotel. Michigan is such a beautiful state and there just are not enough words to describe the beauty and romance of Mackinac Island!

  181. My husband and I love Mackinaw Island…it is where we fell in love all over again 10 years ago! We could use another magical getaway!

  182. We are getting married in Traverse City and have dreamed of having our honeymoon at the Grand Hotel right after..
My mom and dad went there for their honeymoon and I have visited a few times and fell in love with the simplicity and history of the island!
I hope my fiancé and I are given the amazing opportunity to visit again and make one of our first dreams as a couple come true!
I am originally from the UP and he is from Saginaw- it would be the perfect beginning to the rest of our new life together!

  183. My husband and I spend all of our time traveling through this beautiful state. We have plans to see all the lighthouses in Michigan and we already have been to 20. This trip would be incredible for us to continue showing off our Michigan tattoos to places we’ve never been before.

  184. I would like to win this trip…not because I’m wanting a “romantic trip” but as a tribute to my mom who passed away 2 weeks ago with pancreatic cancer. This kind of trip would have been perfect for her, she loved the water, and she liked to travel. I was my mom’s primary care giver since she got sick back in September 2012 as well as my for my dad who is paralyzed from a stroke in 2005. I was with my mom throughout her illness and wishing I was able to spend more time with her doing nothing and watching the sights in Mackinac Island. She would’ve loved the tradition of the island, no motor vehicles and just plain peaceful. The other reason would be for me to have some respite as a caregiver. Taking care of both parents, especially with one who recently passed has been a struggle. The challenge of keeping myself emotionally stable is more than I can handle at this time. I’m wanting to take time for myself and my aunt (my mom’s sister) who was here with me during all the difficult times. Both us would love to spend sometime resting and celebrating my mom’s life and her memories at such a grand place.

  185. My husband and I spend all of our time traveling through this beautiful state. We have plans to see all the lighthouses in Michigan and we already have been to 20. This trip would be incredible for us to continue showing off our Michigan tattoos to places we’ve never been before.

  186. My fiance proposed to me on Belle Isle in Detroit and we’ve traveled all over the state together through the years. I’ve never visited Mackinac Island and have always wanted to go!

  187. I would love <3 to win this contest, but just going to Mackinac isn't really getting the entire experience…I LOVE <3 <3 Munising…the Pictured Rocks, Manistee, Lake of the Clouds, Christmas, and Paradise!!! I hope someone else wins so that they get a taste of the experience, and they want more! Our state is so beautiful…there's always something to remember…..

  188. Love Mackinac Island. One of the most beautiful places to visit in the entire country. Love that there are no cars allowed on the island; makes everything more peaceful and simple.

  189. There is no place better to have a romantic getaway than Mackinac Island and The Grand! I started visiting Mackinac as a child and have been going back ever since. My husband and I married almost two years ago and never got the chance to go on a honeymoon. This would be a perfect way to celebrate our anniversary!

  190. My wife and I spend out honeymoon on the island, unfortunately we couldn’t afford to stay at the Grand Hotel for our honeymoon and we would love to go back to for another stay. My wife had a stem cell transplant 8 1/2 years ago for MDS and I would love to be able to bring her back to the island to celebrate her remission by winning this trip! She definitely deserves it after all she has been through!

  191. I love Michigan and have been trying to get back to to see the island! But either way it was fun to make this board :)

  192. I have been trying to get up to the U.P. in the winter for the past 5 years. I lived in Houghton for 2 years when I was in my 20′s. Winters up there aint for sissies!! <3

  193. I have really been thinking about Macinknaw Island alot lately. My granddaughter visited for the first time a couple of months ago. When
she posted pictures of her visit it just brought back my desire to visit there. I have dreamed about it for over 40 years. i think it’s about time, and winning the contest would just be wonderful.

  194. We honeymooned on the Island 25 years ago and it has always been a dream of mine to be able to go back for a big anniversary like our 25th (this August) and stay at the Grand Hotel! I have a black and white picture of my grandparents sitting on the porch of the Grand back in the 1940′s! Of course they are dressed to the nines!! The Island is one of my favorite places on earth!

  195. I would love to win this trip to Mackinaw Island. I got engaged the first time I went to Mackinaw Island for a quick day trip and I would LOVE to go back and be able to spend more time on the island. I have grown up all my life in Michigan. I work in Detroit, go up north to Port Austin every summer and I’m getting married in Grand Rapids. I love Pure Michigan.

Please check out my Pinterest board!

  196. My husband and I got married on the beach of Lake Michigan last June, winning this trip would be the best way to celebrate our FIRST year of marriage in the same fashion we entered it, the Pure Michigan way.

  197. It will be our 20th anniversary this year and I have loved learning about the Grand Hotel ever since I saw “Somewhere In Time”. I put this trip on our bucket list and hope to come this year.

  198. I would LOVE to win this trip! My husband and I will be celebrating our 20th anniversary May 29th and even though we’ve both lived in Michigan our entire lives (with the exception of 5 yrs) we’ve never been to Mackinac Island! We’re from Marquette and now live downstate so we drive past it about once a month and would love to spend a wonderful weekend there!

  199. “There are SO many “Romantic get a way places”, in “ OUR” great state of Michigan!! Where else in the US could a couple, experience such a wonderful variety of things to do in every season? WELL, take a look at my page, and then the only Question left to ponder is “OMGosh honey, where and when can we go”???!!

  200. I grew up in Petoskey, so our family would take many trips to Mackinaw. We’d hop on the Sheplers Mackinaw Island ferry and enjoy the day relaxing on the island, biking and going for rides in the horse drawn carriages, but my favorite part was getting Murdock’s fudge. I haven’t been there in years, since I moved away about 5 years ago, and I miss the beauty of Michigan everyday, can’t wait to get back to #puremichigan Thanks for the chance to get back to my roots.

  201. Michigan is a great place to live. So many beautiful places to see and things to do. Whether you like outdoor activities, shopping, or playing…there is something for everyone to do in Michigan.

  202. It’s been so long since we’ve been to Mackinaw…and I’ve never crossed the bridge! I’d take my Buick Regal and enjoy the drive – Thanks to Buick and American Airlines! We could celebrate our 24th wedding anniversary in style.

  203. My boyfriend and I stayed at the Grand Hotel in The Royal Suite. in September 2011. We loved the history and the charm of Mackinac Island and the Grand Hotel. Everything about our stay, from the weather to the accommodations was perfect. For us, it truly was a romantic getaway as well as a dream vacation. We can’t wait to go back.

  204. I grew up in Michigan, and currently live in Colorado. I’m a Michigander at heart and especially miss the Great Lakes! I would love to stay at the historical and beautiful Grand Hotel with my husband! We thought about having our wedding on Mackinac Island this past August. Such a romantic place!

  205. Mackinac Island is one of the most romantic and relaxing places in the world. Being there is like going back in time, and I don’t just mean like in the movie “Somewhere in Time,” either. I first visited Mackinac Island when I was on a school trip at age 8, stayed overnight at the Grand Hotel when I was 11 and have been back many times as an adult.

I’m a “Yooper” gal who now lives in Virginia, but MY heart is (and always will be) in Michigan. I’m totally in love with Mackinac Island and that’s because I’m totally in love with Michigan, because Michigan’s Upper Peninsula is my HOME! I mean, who couldn’t help but to fall in love the island and the hotel that helped make it famous?

Being on Mackinac Island AND staying at the Grand Hotel, are experiences everyone should have. It’s a “PURE MICHIGAN” experience to be sure, and it best represents the “MICHIGAN IN LOVE” theme. My husband and I have been married only a short time, we’ve never had a honeymoon, and he hasn’t yet been to Mackinac Island, so winning this contest would be a honeymoon dream come true! <3

  206. I grew spending my summers at mackinaw island and I would love to share my love it with my hubby. It’s been a stressful year so far and enjoying the beauty of Michigan would be a great turnaround.

  207. I’m new to Pinterest so hopefully I did this right. :) My husband and I love Mackinaw and Mackinac Island. We have never been lucky enough yet to stay at the Grand Hotel. My parents have though and can’t say enough great things about it. I love the feel of Mackinac Island. It’s a true step back in time.

  208. I am in LOVE with Michigan and Mackinac Island! I would love the chance to spend this special time with my amazing hard working husband!! Thanks for this great contest!! So fun;)

  209. First, Thank you for the opportunity to share photos from this beautiful state! I have explored most of Michigan vacationing with my family but have not had the opportunity to spend a night at the Grandest of the Grand Hotel on Mackinaw Island. We promote Michigan where ever we are and I always had out Free State maps and new travel places to anyone in need. We are once again planning to spend a wonderful summer exploring new places around the state. Michigan has always been home and will continue to be for our children and grandchildren.

  210. I can’t wait to enjoy a romantic getaway to Mackinac with my husband! Sleeping in, no schedule to follow, and a break from chasing after our 2 young daughters….. It would be fantastic.

  211. Nothing beats the beauty of northern Michigan in the summer. Would love to visit Mackinac Island, the views over the lake are stunning and there is so much to do!

  212. I would love to go to Mackinac, I’ve never been, and I always hear such lovely things about it. I think the trip would be a wonderful chance to spend quality romantic alone time with someone you love.

  213. My Fiancee and I are planning our wedding to be along Lake Michigan. We absolutly love everything about our great state and have promised eachother to never move away. One of our very first trips as a couple was to Mackinaw Island where he showed me where he carved is name in to a cave on the island when he was a kid. At the time he said that he will bring his wife back to carve her name next to his. Well now I need a trip to go back and do this :)

  214. Me and my fiance just got engaged this January and was wanting to have our anniversary weekend in Mackinaw, it is a beautiful city! I have not been there since I was young and this would be a trip of a lifetime for us to share! <3

  215. I’m not sure if this worked or not the first time. I tired putting my email address on a post, then it deleted for some reason. So here it goes again!! I am hoping to win to take my mom on her dream trip! We’ve been to the Grand Hotel once, but only got to look at the building and have never been inside. Good luck to everyone!

  216. The Island is lovely in all seasons – it is for sure Pure Michigan! Glad to add a board on Pinterest, and maybe win a get-a-way! :)

  217. Grand Hotel is the best romantic destination we have ever found! We drove there from Chicago the last time, enjoying the scenery, the wines and the beautiful towns along the way. There is nothing quite like waking up to the clip-clop of horses rather than the horns and screeching tires of cars. The Grand Hotel is a wonderful place to stay and appeals across generations, bringing in young newlyweds as well as those who have been together for years and year. Hands down, it is our favorite getaway!

(Geez, I hope those two previous entries can be deleted)

  220. I was married on Mackinac Island at the Mayor’s house. My mom and dad used to work on the island. It is a beautiful and magical place and one of the most romantic getaways.

  221. I’d love to have a romantic get-away with my husband of 29 years. Mackinaw Island would be absolutely perfect. We visited there last summer with our family that was visiting here from Australia and they were awed by it’s beauty as much as we were. We didn’t get to the Grand Hotel but it looks amazing from the outside. Thank you Pure Michigan, you are the best!
    #PureMichigan :)

  222. HAVE GOWN AND TUX- Will travel! Yes, we’re ready to strut our stuff down the long, luxurious dining room of Grand Hotel, and lead the glamorous life! Yes, the idea of dressing for dinner is old fashioned, and I Love re-living those good old days! Beginning with our jet-set journey, a stylish vehicle transporting us from the airport, then a ferry ride across the Straights of Mackinaw- life will come to a screeching retreat to one of a hundred years ago. I can feel the island breeze, and imagine the cool, fresh air blowing my hair about. Ahhhh…..

  223. I have always been in love with Mackinaw Island, ever since I was a little girl. It would be more than a blessing to win this getaway for my husband and I! Thank you for this amazing opportunity. #puremichigan :)

  224. Mackinac is one of the most magical places in the world. It holds a very special place with my family and I have been going since I was a little girl. I would love the opportunity to bring my husband so he can experience the magic of the island and the Grand too.

  225. Inspired by the Michigan in Love: Pin to Win Pure Michigan Contest, I looked again at my wonderful Mackinac Island vacation pictures for the last couple of trips. Mackinac is the summer place of my youth and draws me back to Michigan as often as I can get there. We visit family still there, visit Frankenmuth, buy Pinconning cheese and Traverse City cherries, search for Petosky stones and escape to Mackinac. I’m a frequent watcher of the Good Time singalong video :)

  226. Since we own and operate our own little resort in Traverse City, it’s hard for us to get away. But we have found that Mackinaw Island can be a quick little getaway that transports us in time to a place much farther away. We have never stayed at the Grand Hotel, but it sure is on our bucket list !

  227. My husband and I have been thinking we would take a trip to Michigan. What a joy it would be to get to go to Mackinac on this fantastic prize trip. Good luck to all who enter….but I hope I am chosen! lol!

  228. I would love to go to Michigan, because I have two Uncles there and I would love to see where they live.

  229. I have never been to Michigan, nor has my British born husband. Mackinaw Island looks exceedingly romantic and crazy beautiful…..I just know we’d have a wonderful time and create memories to cherish. Thank you so much for this super opportunity, the trip you have planned as the ‘Grand’ prize looks amazing!

  230. I fell in love with Mackinac Island when I was little. It is a whimsical place that will always have a special place in my heart. It has always been my dream to someday get married on Mackinac Island. It would be a wonderful treat to win this getaway!

  231. I lived on Mackinac Island and started the Spa at the Grand Hotel in the 90′s. I haven’t been able to afford such an extravagance as being a guest there, but it would mean so much to me to be able to go back as a guest.
As an employee I have to say the Musser family treats their staff with all the same respect they offer their customers. That integrity is what makes the Grand Hotel such an incredibly special place.
    #puremichigan ❤

  232. I traveled from West Virginia to Marquette, Michigan every year with my family to visit my grandparents. And around 20 years ago my husband proposed in a canoe in the middle of a Michigan lake. After returning to visit last summer I realized just how much I love the U.P. and would LOVE to go back again!

  233. Thanks for offering this exciting contest! For years, I’ve dreamed of being totally spoiled with an amazing stay the Grand Hotel. What’s not to love about Mackinac Island? My fingers are crossed!

  234. We stayed there last summer for two nights and had an incredible time. My wife is in love with the island and we go there at every chance. Thanks for the opportunity to win another stay.

  235. I just love this contest idea so much. Michigan is so full of so many incredible things to do. Visiting Mackinac Island let alone staying at the Grand Hotel would be a complete dream come true. That is one location I have not yet been able to visit. I have highlighted some of my favorite parts about Michigan to my Pintrest page. Though some may not seem really romantic, sharing these things with my husband are perfectly us.

  236. What a beautiful, picturesque island! I had no idea this luxurious getaway spot existed. Definitely on my bucket list and would love to experience it for the first time with my fiance!

  237. My husband and I won a trip here in 2002. It was magical. My husband died of lung cancer November 5, 2012. It would be magical to once again go back and relive the memories. I loved having a couple of glasses of wine in the Cupola bar and riding bikes around the island. I still have the bicycle we bought at the police auction. We had to take it apart to take it home in our small car. Happy memories.

  238. My husband is going blind and he talks about one of the most beautiful sights he has ever seen and that was Mackinac Island. I would truly love to win this dream vacation and surprise him with one of the most beautiful sights that may indeed be one of his last to see!

  239. A weekend at the Grand Hotel is like a week in paradise! Pin your pure Michigan favorites on my Pinterest Michigan in Love Pin to Win Board and promote Michigans crown jewel!

  240. Michigan will always be “home”…no matter where I live. My husband and I love traveling the state when we get the chance–camping in Petoskey, staying on Mackinac Island, or cheering for Michigan in Ann Arbor…it’s all good! My fondest memory–meeting Christopher Reeve on Mackinac Island while he was filming “Somewhere In Time”.

  241. I haven’t been to Mackinaw Island since I was a little girl. I have been trying to get there the past couple years, but haven’t made the time. Would love to surprise my husband to a stay at the Grand Hotel!

  242. My husband and I had a Son just over a year ago. We both need, and deserve, a romantic get away to the Island. Thank you, American Airline, Buick, the Grand Hotel, and Pure Michigan for giving us this opportunity. It would be a dream to win this!!!

  243. I have only been to Mackinac Island one time! I was ready to move there. So beautiful…..we drove up from San Antonio TX to get out of the heat! Michigan is beautiful!

  244. I fell in love with the Grand Hotel the first time I saw Somewhere In Time. It’s still my all-time favorite movie! I wanted to plan a honeymoon there, but at the time could not afford it. My husband and I would absolutely love the oppurtunity to visit Mackinac Island and take in all the beauty! Please Please Please! Pick me!

It would be a trip of a lifetime for me, and a most meaningful memory! We could really use this right now!

  245. My fiancé wants to marry me on Mackinac Island and he won’t until we can afford it. This would be the PERFECT chance to nudge him a little. Thank you SO MUCH for this chance!

  246. I love Michigan!
My Pinterest board is attached! I have included my own pictures of my travels around Michigan! From Lower Michigan to the Upper Peninsula, we truly live in the most beautiful of lands!

Thanks for giving me the opportunity to share my pictures of MICHIGAN!

  247. I also am born and raised in Michigan! Every summer I try to make it up to Mackinac Island- simply the best vacation spot in the US for everyone at every age:) please see my PIN

Please take a look at my Pinterest board and consider me for the Pure Michigan Pin to Win: Michigan in Love contest. I recently lost my aunt to breast cancer this past October and our favorite place to go together was Mackinac Island after visiting family and going to our cabin in Luzerne, MI. This would be a wonderful way to celebrate her life.

    Thank you

  249. We are sisters who love the island. Ever since our first time on the island as young children we have grown an obsession with everything Mackinac! This last year our parents took us (Kimberly, Lance(boyfriend), Kelly, Joe (husband)) to the island to celebrate Kelly and Joe’s one year wedding anniversary. There are no words that can describe the experience we had on the island celebrating such a loving occasion. As a thank you for giving us the chance to visit the island again, we are going to give the gift of this trip to our parents who have done so much for us throughout the years. We love Mackinac Island and are still reminiscing over the pictures we have posted on our pinterest board.

  250. I was born and raised in Michigan. It is truly Gods country. My favorite spots are Mackinac Island and Paradise, Michigan.

  251. My favorite vacation of all time was five and a half years ago, when I traveled to Michigan with my mother and daughter. It had been a dream of mine for over 26 years. By the time we landed in Traverse City, and drove along the lake through the quaint and interesting towns, north to Mackinac Island, i was in love. The beautiful scenery, the weather, nothing could have been more perfect, it was well beyond any of my expectations. Mackinac Island and the Grand Hotel was so beautiful and so grand. I have married since then and want so much to visit with my husband. That is my next dream. :)

  252. #puremichigan.
Born and raised in Iowa, Michigan has always been my second home. My dad was born in Sault Ste. Marie and his parents still live there. My parents are both teachers so every summer we would travel to our cabin on monocle lake in Brimley, MI about 50 miles north of Mackinac Island. My grandpa also helped build the mackinac bridge so everything mackinac has been dear to my heart. Little did I know, my fiancé Tyler, planned our engagement to be at the grand hotel. We stayed there on August 3, 2011(in the mackinac suite) the day before my birthday and he popped the question! We got married on Oct 6 2012 and I would absolutely love to surprise him with this gift!!

I also pinned some of our pictures from our engagement on my board so you could see how amazing and truly romantic it was!

  253. Mackinaw Island is on my bucket list for my summer vacation & has been a place I’ve wanted to visit for the past 6 yrs. IT LOOKS SO RELAXING, & Beautiful!

  254. I love Mackinac Island, actually Michigan period! My husband and I spent our honeymoon on Mackinac Island. We try and make it back when we can on our anniversary. We were there last October. I feel a connection to this island maybe its because I have ancestors who lived on the island from the 1800′s. It is a beautiful place to have a romantic get a way. This is where I like to go to have a relaxing and fun experience.

  255. We were married on Mackinac Island 12 1/2 years ago. It was my husband’s first time to Mackinac Island and memories were made that will last forever for everyone who came. As a child we visited the Island every other year…when you could walk on the Grand Hotel Porch without having a reservation. The beauty of the Grand and the Island will be with me always even though I am now in another state. Mackinac Island is and always will be, my favorite place to be! Thank you for sharing!

  256. Last Summer we took a vacation in Mackinac Island and the UP. This is one of the most relaxing and beautiful vacations we have ever taken.
The sunsets were spectacular! The picture rocks, sand dunes, and waterfalls are nature’s finest artscapes! The sky at night was so beautiful we could even see satellites. The Grand Hotel is fabulous! This a vacation I would love to do again!

  257. I love Michigan….I miss traveling Michian since my husband passed. Would love to visit the island….remember those sweet memories of Michigan past! <3

Being in Michigan makes me feel like home, even though I’m not from there! My husband and I were just married on Mackinac Island last year. We had the chance to introduce some of our family and friends who had never been to the Island before, at the wedding. Everyone loves it, but I always feel like it is truly the most peaceful place, and where I belong. I’m lucky enough to have married an amazing man who feels the same way I do! We would love to experience The Grand. So many great memories have happened in Michigan, We would love to add the Grand to the list!

  259. We took our son (as a gift after high school graduation on a road trip) to Michigan. One of the highlights was Mackinac Island. We were there for the lilac festival. These were some of the things we were able to do on the island: The taste of Mackinac, bicycle 8 miles around the island and golf. We all enjoyed the trip and it’s one of our favorite memories.

  260. A romantic getaway to Mackinaw Island would a dream. I’ve been all around Michigan but have never had the opportunity to stay at the Grand Hotel. This would be spectacular!!!!

  261. My favorite place in Michigan by far is Mackinac Island! I am a native Michigander and have been to Mackinac Island many times but have never been fortunate enough to have stayed at the Grand Hotel. This would be an experience of a lifetime!

  262. We love Mackinaw Island! It is by far the most romantic places in the world. It calls you to come back again and again with so much beauty and peace that surrounds the entire Island. This is a wonderful contest and would be a special treat to those who would win it.

  263. Though Michigan is home, it is still one of my favorite places to travel as well! There is so much beauty and diversity and something new around every bend. I would love to visit the Island again and stay at the Grand Hotel for the first time! Thank you for a great contest.

  264. After being together for 19 years and engaged for 15 of those, we are finally getting ready to make it official. The Grand Hotel has been our only real vacation that we have ever had. It would nice to make it into something more that a vacation place.

  265. We love Mackinac Island :) Have been there a few times and always looked on at the beautiful Grand Hotel in awe! What a gorgeous place to spend a weekend with my groom!

  266. I love Grand Hotel! My husband and I stayed for our anniversary and it was the MOST ROMANTIC time we had had. I can’t wait to bring my girls there one day and enjoy it with them.

  267. Mackinac Island and The Grand Hotel? What a great contest, I cannot imagine a more beautiful spot to enjoy a romantic getaway. Michigan has so much to offer; easy travel, lush landscapes, wonderful delicious dining, and warm, friendly people…..always makes for a memorable vacation.

  268. I am not from Michigan, but I LOVE your state. I truly believe that in a past life I must of been born on Mackinac Island . When I get off the boat to Mackinac Island my whole demeanor changes, I’m the most relaxed I’ve ever been. I would love to bring my husband to the island for a romantic get away, we have been so caught up in work and not making enough time for “us” that this would be just perfect!!! I truly believe in the magic of the island. ;)

  269. I had a few misspelled words in my last comment. Oops!! It happens : ) I knew what I was trying to say

  270. I would be so grateful to be able to take my girlfriend and myself on this amazing trip! I truly have a long love affair with Mackinac Island going back to my childhood, and be able to share that with her in this manner would be a once in a lifetime opportunity. Today is our day! our mountain is waiting. So lets get on our way!

  271. I was so excited to see this contest on Facebook!
My mind started spinning in millions of different directions when it comes to Michigan and all my wonderful memories!
Being that I’ve lost both of my grandparents, who were the true essence of Michigan and the U.P., creating my board was a wonderful trip down memory lane. Oh the stories they could both tell about being first generation Yoopers, first generation Michiganders!
So many things are offered in Michigan, from the beautiful beaches, the quiet little towns, to the changing seasons and colors. Anyone would be lucky to be able to vacation in such a beautiful state!
As a child, we would be so excited about our trips to the U.P.! The magnificence of the Mackinac Bridge, a trip over to Mackinac Island. Of course, this all led to our travels to the U.P. My grandmother made sure we had red pistachios in the car, so by the time we arrived, our fingers were stained, but the delicious pistachios had been enjoyed!
Of course nothing beats our family traditional U.P. Pasties, complete with ketchup (no gravy for this family!), or “squeaky” Finnish cheese and potato sausage! All of these wonderful foods served when our entire family got together at “camp” (those of you who are true Yoopers know what I’m talking about!). It was just a great way to reconnect with all our family, many of whom still live in the U.P.
I recall taking walks along the railroad tracks, picking up pieces of yet-to-be refined iron ore, and listening to my Grandpa re-tell the story of him and his brothers stealing coal from the passing trains just to keep the family homestead warm during the harsh U.P. winters during the depression. And what grander vision than the massive iron ore ships docked in Marquette, either coming in off of Lake Superior, or loaded up and ready to head out?
And what Michigander, whether still living there, or moved to other reaches of the world, wasn’t THRILLED that Somewhere In Time (Christopher Reeve, Jane Seymour) was filmed at Michigan’s absolute gem, the Grand Hotel?? Beautiful scenery, and a step back into what life might truly have been like!
Oh…I could go on and on about all my memories…but winning this contest would be a great way to create more wonderful memories!!

  272. My 2 most favorite places in my home state are most any place on the coast of Lake Michigan, and Mackinaw/Mackinac. I am literally in love with the bridge, especially on a beautiful blue skied day that blends into the waters. I also never tire of the island. I feel that we find new places every time we have visited and I recently think it would be great to experience it in the quiet winter. I am not a winter person, but I love the peace that the island brings me. I can’t imagine what is must be like when it is not with all of the tourists. It reminds me to appreciate the great beauty of our sate that I often forget during the grey days of winter in the middle of the state.

Thank You for looking at my board. I went alittle crazy as I picked what I needed and then also some of my favorite things.

  273. My husband and I are celebrating 30 years of marriage and would love to have a ceremony in Mackinac Island. We have always dreamed of going here. I’m sure the pictures do it no justice as to what one would truly experience.

  274. I have been to Mackinac Island with my Mom and my son and we rode our bikes around the Grand Hotel, but would love, love a romantic getaway to stay there with my husband!! Would be a great 10 yr anniversary get away!!!!

  275. My husband and I would love to win this romantic getaway. We haven’t been able to take a vacation together in a long time let alone a relaxing/romantic one. My husband, being the best one in the world, deserves to be spoiled! We are trying to start a family and this could be our “baby-moon” ;)

I have been traveling to Mackinac with my family since I was little. We are pure Michigan all the way! I have always dreamed of staying in the Grand Hotel, ever since I first pedaled my little bike up that dang hill. Perhaps someday this dream will come true! :-) I’ve seen Somewhere in Time a bazillion times. Absolutely love it. Mackinac is such a magical place — for me, the most peaceful (and romantic!) place in the world!

  277. My husband and I absolutely love Mackinaw Island and the Grand Hotel. We usually visit the island during the summer months and would love to visit during the winter months. Every time we go we find something new. I love all of the quaint shops and everything that the island has to offer. Would absolutely love to win this trip and the Buick Encore!!!
    Pintrest board is:

  278. I love Mackinac Island. My husband took me there for the first time a few years ago and I fell in love with the island. I have never been to the Grand Hotel but its one place that I would love to go. Mackinac has such a magic that I rarely feel other places.

  279. A romantic getaway at the Grand Hotel would be a dream come true! The serenity of the island away from the pressures of life, where elegance is evident in the small details, is what the Grand Hotel is all about. I would truly LOVE to win this for my husband and I. Its been years since we’ve had a getaway.

  280. I have completed my board for the chance to win the Grand Hotel 2 night giveaway! What a great contest to win….7 year wedding anniversary this summer, married at The Grand and after a job loss a vacation would be great!

  281. I was born and raised in Michigan, but was never able to go to Mackinac Island growing up. My husband and I went there about 5 years ago and had an awesome time, would love to go back and spend more time there and maybe even stay at the Grand Hotel. My dream is to live on the Island someday!

  282. Being on Mackinac Island is like having your fairy tale come true. My husband always says” As you wish”, and he knows the Island is my greatest wish
The Island will call you back

  283. Being on Mackinac Island is like have your fairy tale come true. My husband always says” As you wish”, and he knows the Island is my greatest wish
The Island will call you back

  284. Winning this contest would be a dream come true on so many levels, I don’t think I can even begin to list them all though certainly having the chance to finally visit the Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island would be the highlight as I’ve wanted to go there ever since I first sobbed my way through “Somewhere In Time” on the big screen! One of these days, my hope is take a lighthouse driving tour and see all of the wonderful lighthouses that Michigan has – I cant think of a better way to spend a vacation!

  285. I haven’t been to Mackinac since I was a child and since my husband and I have had our two children, haven’t been able to vacation together. There is just so much beauty in our state and I think sometimes we forget or take it for granted. I travel for work and get mixed reviews when I tell them I’m from Michigan. Some people just don’t really know what all Michigan has to offer and those of us who live here don’t always get the time to get out there and enjoy it.

  286. We don’t get to travel much, so this would be a well deserved vacation. Michigan is a beautiful place to be. Where else can you get all 4 seasons and view the most beautiful sites that nature has to offer.

  287. I love Michigan! My grandmother grew up on a farm in Saginaw County–great memories of visiting my cousins there. There’s always something new to discover in MI.

  288. This is such a cool contest! My husband and I love michigan. We’re trying to visit all the different places there is to enjoy here:) I grew up going to Mackinac Island with my Dad, who is the dentist for the horses on the island, our family would spend the day enjoying the island while he spent the day going from barn to barn working on teeth:) Now my husband and I are pregnant with our first little one, and would LOVE to take a trip there before I get to big to enjoy a little getaway! we’ve always wanted to visit the Grand Hotel so this would be awesome! Good luck to all participants!

  289. Michigan is one of those places that just has everything you could ask for in a place to live, work and travel. Starting with Michigan’s 4 beautiful seasons, the fact that the state is practically surrounded by Great Lakes, the amazing wildlife, beautiful scenery throughout the state and the so many more things I could list! I have lived here my entire life and do not leave this state to vacation. The reason that I do not vacation anywhere else is because everything that you need for an amazing vacation is right here in Michigan! From camping in one of the many state parks to traveling up to the U.P. to do some snowmobiling. There are so many places to visit in this great state that you could pick a new place every year to explore! One place that I have never been is the Grand Hotel. I have been to Mackinac Island, but never stayed in the hotel. That is one thing that I have always wanted to do here in Michigan. Sure would love to cross that off my bucket list with my amazing husband! :-)

P.S. Boy would it sure would be fun to travel in the Buick Enclave, that is a gorgeous vehicle both inside ant out! Would make for a great road trip!

My Pinterest board shows everything that I love so much about Michigan! The many places that would make for a very romantic trip, and also places that would be great for a family!

  290. you can take the girl out of Michigan but you can’t take Michigan out of the girl! I’m getting married in the end of April – what a wonderful present this would be to share with my new husband! Michigan is such a beautiful state, an Mackinac has the best of everything! Sunsets…nature…serenity…and don’t forget the fudge! No wonder this is such a hot spot for destination weddings!

  291. Michigan is known for many things – the history, the food, the views, the industry, the teams, the pride! But romance? You better believe it. Is there anything more romantic than watching a sunset on one of the Great Lakes? Or holding hands while strolling along Sleeping Bear? What about a dinner date in Fishtown? Brunch in Traverse City? A Saturday evening show in downtown Detroit? A campfire for two at Port Crescent State Park? I’ve done it all and can’t wait to do more.

  292. Having never traveled to Michigan before, I am entranced by the beauty of the area. I want to walk the beaches, smell the flowers, and bask in the gorgeous Grand Hotel. I can’t wait to get there, I just know I’ll fall in love with Michigan!

  293. This would be a great trip. My husband and I are celebrating 20 years this year. We are starting to travel and love seeing new places, especially in our home state! Michigan has much to offer.

  294. My three visits to the Grand have been for the Somewhere In Time weekend – My husband and I have always enjoyed our stays – dinner is out of this world, sitting on the front porch watching the sun set or walking the island……
Mackinac is by far my favorite island within driving distance/ferry ride of home.

  295. Michigan in love! Since I was a small girl, I’ve always loved Mackinaw. There’s something magical about it. It’s not a huge island, but it’s big on things to do–biking, shopping, dining, golf, sailing, hiking, climbing, carriage rides, architecture appreciation, times for being among people and areas of solitude! My parents honeymooned at Mackinaw in the 40′s. My husband and I recently married and plan to honeymoon at Mackinaw as well. It’s the perfect place for romance…beautiful views, amazing colors, friendly people, incredible dining! What more could you ask for? And it’s all right here–only hours away, yet decades apart in feel and flavor and rich history! Romance in Michigan? Well, Mackinaw, of course!

  296. My husband and I love Mackinac Island; he proposed there, we are renewing our wedding vows there this July 2013 (Mission Point Resort), and my great x3 grandparents lived on the island. It is a beautiful place, in our hearts it is a haven. We have never stayed at the Grand Hotel, we have visited each trip though. It is a romantic place and a definite must do vacation!

  297. I have always wanted to visit Mackinac Island – everything I’ve ever seen and read about it moves me. I can’t imagine a more perfect place for a romantic getaway!

  298. Ready for a little get away vacation time! Pure Michigan has so much to offer. Just get out there and enjoy! #puremichigan

I have lived in Michigan most of my life!! My husband and I and our 11 year old son. Rode are bikes from Benton Harbor to Traverse City (280 miles) in the beginning of June last year. Are plan was to make it to the Mackinac Bridge but after a long ride on M22 and finding it a little to dangerous we ended are trip in Traverse City. My husband and I finished the trip in early October, riding from Harbor Springs to Mackinac City!! We really enjoy riding and hope to do more riding in Michigan!!!

  300. Michigan brings peacefulness, serenity, and happiness to my heart. I was born and raised in Michigan and try to visit the beautiful state every year. Two years ago, I was able to finally show my wonderful North Carolina husband how gorgeous Michigan is. We visited Grand Haven, ate pronto pups, walked the boardwalk, watched the musical fountain and he too, fell in love with Michigan! Unfortunately since our last trip we have not been able to visit again. I bug my husband with multiple online pictures of beaches, light houses, water falls, and brag about the eateries along the way. It would be an honor to be able to visit Michigan again and start a new journey of discovering Pure Michigan. We look forward to picturesque views, waffle cones with home made ice cream, horse drawn carriage rides, and walking the island hand in hand.

  301. The quaintness of the towns along the Lakes is so relaxing & enjoyable. And accompanying that with the views & the beaches, makes Lake Michigan my destination several times a year!

  302. We love Michigan. My husband loves to snowmobile and they have the best trails. I would love to see it in the summer!

  303. Love our Michigan. Have lived here all my life. I have been to the island but never to the grand hotel. The island was such a fantastic place to visit and I’m sure the grand hotel would be just extra sweet icing on the cake.

  304. Winter, spring, summer or fall you can always have a ball in Pure Michigan.
Go to pinterest under travel and Pure MIchigan and check out great pics!

  305. My fiance and I both grew up in Michigan. We have been dating since high school and are getting married this coming September. This would be a perfect honeymoon for us! We love Mackinac Island, but neither of us has been able to stay at the Grand Hotel before this opportunity. Mackinac Island is beautiful…especially in the fall! We would be unable to afford such a great trip and I can’t think of a better place to start our marriage!

  306. As a Michigander, I know Michigan is AWESOME! Would LOVE to take my KENTUCKY woman on a romantic trip!
