Winter has arrived in Michigan, and while the temperatures may be dropping, that doesn’t mean that fun events in Michigan will take a break! January in Pure Michigan is full of events for people of all ages. From snowy weather fun to concerts and restaurant weeks, there’s something for everyone.

Grand Rapids Symphony presents: Lockington Premieres Cello Concerto

Wine About Winter

The perfect pairing of wine, shopping, and winter! Local art will be on display during the walking tour featuring a variety of wines for tasting in each participating store. Bridal World Show 2013
January 5, 2013, Saginaw – January 6, 2013, Lansing

Race Your Own Dog Team with Nature’s Kennel Sled Dog Adventures

Grand Rapids Antiques Market & Old House Expo
January 5-6, 2013, Grand Rapids
Visit Michigan’s largest indoor antique show January 5-6. There is plenty of vintage shopping for the antique enthusiast. Over 200 buyers, sellers, and repair services will be on hand and there will also be $5 appraisals, a Miss Valentine Pin Up contest, vintage fashion show, and the Old House Expo (Saturday only) where visitors can learn how to restore and preserve their largest antiques. The Ultimate Fishing Show

Sno-Blast 2013

Magic Slim and the Teardrops – Concert
January 12, 2013, Traverse City
Magic Slim is the greatest living proponent of the intense, electrified, Mississippi-to-Chicago blues style that spawned much of the music played by modern blues artists and rockers. It’s no wonder that Magic Slim and the Teardrops, considered by many to be “the last real Chicago blues band,” have become one of the busiest and best-loved blues bands around. The Velveteen Rabbit

“When a child loves you for a long, long time… then you become Real.” So says the Horse to the Velveteen Rabbit in Margery Williams’ famous and much-loved literary classic. A plush rabbit, given as a gift to a young boy, yearns for the day the boy will choose him as his special playmate, so that he can become real. This innovative production combines the theatrical magic and signature style of Enchantment Theatre with the musical magic of Tony, Emmy and Grammy Award-winning composer/arranger Don Sebesky. With an original musical score, life-size puppets, masks and magic, this charming tale of love and devotion becomes an unforgettable theatrical experience for the whole family. Great Skate Winterfest
January 12-13, 2013, Grand Rapids
Celebrate winter in the city and skate with Grand Rapids Griffins players! Celebrate the 11th Annual Great Skate Winterfest at Rosa Parks Circle in downtown Grand Rapids! Enjoy a day full of winter-themed events, sport demonstrations and family activities, followed by a 24-hour skating marathon with the Grand Rapids Griffins. The Russian National Ballet Theatre

With over 50 dancers of singular instruction and vast experience, the Russian National Ballet Theatre is dedicated not only to the timeless tradition of classical Russian Ballet but also to invigorate this tradition by embracing new developments in the dance from around the world. Tip Up Town USA

North American International Auto Show

Sno Drift Rally 2013
