In March some of us may be seeing the signs of spring, while others may still be under a blanket of snow. One thing is for sure – there are plenty of fun events going on in Michigan this March! From sled dog races to Irish festivals and golf shows there are a wide variety of events for people of all ages happening in Pure Michigan.

Girlfriends Weekend 2013
March 1-March 3, 2013, Holland
Girlfriends Weekend is a three-day event packed full of all the things women love, with plenty of free time for shopping, wining and dining and indulging. Designed to be a fun and relaxing getaway for girlfriends, sisters, mothers and daughters, the event offers everything from belly dancing lessons and wine tasting to a closet makeover contest, in store activities, dueling pianos, a champagne brunch, and much, much more. You must be 21. The weekend package is $110 per attendee or $105 per person for group of four or more. Saturday only passes available for just $70. Overnight accommodations are not included in the Girlfriends Weekend price; however, special, discounted rates are available at participating hotels. March 1-3, 2013, Calumet
Experience one of sled-dog racings few downtown starts and finishes and follow competitors as they traverse 150 scenic miles of the Keweenaw Peninsula. The race begins on Friday evening in Calumet with a route throughout the Peninsula, including a mandatory layover in Eagle Harbor and a stage rest in Copper Harbor, and culminating in an exciting finish on the streets of Calumet on Sunday afternoon. Michigan Golf Show

Saline Fiddlers Winter Hometown Concert

U.P. Ice Chip Golf Event
March 2, 2013, St. Ignace
How’s your golf game? Test your skills against others at the U.P. Ice Chip Golf Event on the Wild Ice of Moran Bay on Lake Huron in St. Ignace. The 9-hole course will test player’s balance on the ice while attempting to hit the perfect shot. Register at the Mackinac Grille Restaurant beginning at 9 a.m. There is a registration fee of $30/person that includes lunch and dinner at the Mackinac Grille. A festival of laughs celebrates laughter for the health of it — a festival of comedy, performance, film, and a variety of seriously funny stuff that makes us laugh. Enjoy many aspects of humor from top comedians to laughter yoga and funny pet contests at this festival of laughter taking place at 20 venues in and around Grand Rapids. America’s finest hot rods, customs, trucks and motorcycles roll into Cobo Center for the 61st Annual MeGuiar’s Autorama. Flushing Walleye Festival

Southern Michigan Winter Beer Festival

This annual outdoor beer tasting includes an outdoor patio, food, bonfires, DJ music and giveaways. The Southern Michigan Winter Beer Festival is a craft and specialty beer tasting event featuring over 80 different types of premium brews with 140 beers available. 4×4 Polar Truck Drag Races

Clare Irish Festival
