Matty G., senior editor for Golf Digest, recently went on a tour of 12 golf courses in Oregon and Northern Michigan.  The 6 Michigan courses he chose were:Treetops golf resort

After playing through all of them, he rated Roscommon’s Forest Dunes his favorite.  In fact, the Michigan courses grabbed 3 of the top 5 spots on his list, and 4 of Matty’s top 5 holes were on Michigan golf courses!

What do you think of Matty G.’s list?  Have you played Forest Dunes, Arcadia Bluffs, or any of the other courses on his list?  We’d love to hear what your favorite Michigan golf courses are.

I’ve never played any of these, but The Bear at Grand Traverse is beautiful. It’s on my “play before I die” list. Boyne also has some very nice courses – The Monument is challenging and scenic at the same time.

I’ve played the Bear, Arcadia, Fazio & Smith’s Treetops and I enjoyed Arcadia and Fazio Treetops the most of this group. My favorite is still Belvedere in Charlevoix. I really need to play Forrest Dunes. I have a feeling this guy knows his golf courses!
