The Making of the Pure Michigan Sing-Along Video

August 24, 2012

in Pure Michigan Ads

The duo behind last year’s Grand Rapids viral lip dub video (the one Roger Ebert calls “the greatest music video ever made”) are at it again. This time, Jeff Barrett and Rob Bliss are creating the first-ever statewide sing-along filming 50 Michigan cities in 7 days. Below are photos, tweets and videos throughout their journey. The final video will be released in early September.

Update: Filming for the video ended in August. Check michigan.org/blog to see the final video from Jeff and Rob’s trip on Sunday, September 9th!

Pure Michigan, this was a brilliant idea!  I first heard about it here in Grand Rapids, then my mom mentioned it was on the news in Detroit, another friend in Gaylord and Traverse City emailed me about it.  I am enjoying all of the sneak peek photos.  To take the talent of  Bliss and Barrett, and broaden the appeal and love of Grand Rapids, and spread it throughout Michigan with all of its greatness, well,  it’s exciting!  Can’t wait to see the finished product.  I am still moved emotionally when I watch the Grand Rapids American Pie Lip Dub video.  Pure Michigan sing along is bound to be even more stunning!  Looking forward…
