Bay City Chalk Walk

Bavarian Festival 2012

Mid Michigan Renaissance Fantasy Festival
June 16-17, 2012, Vassar
Celebrate the 5th season of the annual Mid Michigan Renaissance Festival (MMRF) near Frankenmuth with music, merriment and all-day family fun! See history, legend and fantasy come alive through educational displays, period encampments, the Children’s Knoll and sword fighting. The Mid Michigan Renaissance Festival runs for four full weekends: June 9-10, 16-17, 23-24, and June 30 – July 1. Event hours are 11am – 7pm. (Open rain or shine!) Ticket prices for all day family entertainment are $10 for adults and teens, $7 for children ages 6-12, and admission is free for children ages 5 and under. MMRF is located on 50 beautiful acres of the Grainger family’s wooded grove, at 7464 Frankenmuth Road, in Vassar. Nor-East’r Music & Art Festival

Nor-East’r Fest has loads of shade for its audience and campers located at the fairgrounds, 1889 Caldwell Road, Fairview. Several stages with performances, workshops in art, music & dance, a juried art show and 12 or more guitars and instructional packs given away to kids. Most artists demonstrate at the Art Show which features traditional media such as metal, clay, wood and glass. Greatest 4th in the North 2012

Chevrolet Detroit Belle Isle Grand Prix

The Chevrolet Detroit Belle Isle Grand Prix returns to the Motor City on June 1-3, 2012. The event will feature the cars of the IZOD IndyCar Series, the Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car Series, the Indy Lights Series and the Pirelli World Challenge Championship Series. The weekend collectively is referred to as the Chevrolet Detroit Belle Isle Grand Prix. Father’s Day Cruise on the St. Mary’s River

Baraga County Lake Trout Festival

The Seventh Annual Baraga County Lake Trout Festival will take place on Saturday, June 9, 2012, which coincides with Michigan’s free fishing weekend–no fishing license is necessary. Krusin’ Klassics Fun Run

Friday night will begin with a parade of cars lined up in Ludington Park at 6pm. The parade will start at 7pm. After the parade, at the UP Fairgrounds, the night begins at 8pm with free hot dogs, brats and home made French fries. Music will be provided by AJ the DJ until 11pm. On Saturday the gates open at 7am, Hot Rod’s chassis dyno will operate from 10am – 6pm. Vendors will be on the grounds supplying food, drink and a variety of goods. A woman’s Tea will be held in the early afternoon and the village will be open at the south end of the grounds. At 8pm the dance will begin with the Hitmen providing rockin’ tunes until midnight. Grand Haven Sand Sculpture

Each year residents and visitors of the Grand Haven area have enjoyed the challenge of building art in the sand by participating in the Sand Sculpture Contest held annually on the last Saturday in June at the Grand Haven City Beach. Groups, families and individuals are judged and awarded prizes after the two-hour time limit to sculpt. Registration is from 9-9:45am and sculpting from 10am-noon with judging to follow.
