We recently introduced two new TV spots that highlight the unmistakable sounds, sights and energy of Detroit, Michigan. Rather than just sharing the ads with you, we spoke with Dan Fuoco of the Detroit Metro Convention & Visitors Bureau to get his thoughts on what these new spots mean for the city. Read from Dan below and let us know what you think!
We know you’ve all been waiting for it. The ever-popular Pure Michigan television advertisements are now featuring both downtown and metro Detroit so that visitors planning a vacation can preview what we already know: The D is a destination with a ton to see and do — a destination that is Pure Michigan.
“Let’s take a trip this weekend. A trip to another world.” Sounds magical, doesn’t it? The familiar and amiable voice of Tim Allen speaks of greater Detroit as a place to “search for buried treasure, sample rare delicacies, bond with exotic wildlife and share in local customs.” The commercial highlights beautiful scenes from Greenfield Village and Henry Ford Museum at The Henry Ford, the Detroit Zoo, the Michigan Science Center and elsewhere. Watch the clip below, and share it with your friends!
Home to more than 100 breweries, Michigan is fifth in the nation for the number of breweries, microbreweries and brewpubs. We were thrilled to see three Michigan cities take home Beer City USA honors this week, with Grand Rapids being named Beer City USA with more than 50 percent of the votes and Kalamazoo and Ann Arbor coming in second and fourth place, respectively.
To build on the beer craze that’s continuing to sweep the state, we recently asked fans to help us and Founders Brewing Co. choose a Pure Michigan beer style to be featured on tap at Founders this summer. More than 1,200 fans voted for their favorite of three styles – Vanilla Stout, Apple Ale and Wheat IPA, and today we’re excited to announce that Vanilla Stout will be available in the Founders taproom this July during Michigan Craft Beer Month.
Thanks to everyone that voted, and be sure to let us know if you plan to make a visit to Founders Brewing Co. this July!
Pure Michigan’s national advertising campaign kicked off last month, and today we’re launching the 2013 campaign in local markets throughout the Great Lakes region.
Here’s a look at a new television spot from Frankenmuth that you’ll soon see on TV. Detroit will also have a new television spot coming out later this season. Both will air in markets including Southern Ontario and Cincinnati and Columbus, Ohio.
You might recall that we gave fans on social channels a first look at the Frankenmuth spot this past winter, and today we wanted to share some behind-the-scenes photos from the shoot. Take a look at the gallery below and let us know what you think!
Additional ads running regionally this season include Games on the Grass, Road Trip, First Tee, Catch Up and Mermaid Tails.
In total, the television and radio ads feature 34 private sector partners and will air in key regional markets and statewide through June. Learn more about the campaign on michigan.org.
Pure Michigan billboards – showcasing Grand Sable Dunes, Marquette Harbor, Miners Beach Falls and Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore – will also be featured in regional and in-state markets. Chicago tour buses will also be branded with Pure Michigan again this summer. Learn more here.
