Belmont is situated northeast of Grand Rapids in Plainfield Township.  The town provides access to the longest rail-to-trail corridor in Michigan, the White Pine Trail.  The trail extends from Comstock Park to Cadillac and covers over 93 miles. Approximately 14 miles are paved in this area suitable for the physically challenged, seniors, families and others.
