Located 20 miles west of Copper Harbor in Keweenaw County. Eagle River was founded in 1843, one of the earliest settlements on the peninsula. It is the county seat of Keweenaw County. Stay in the first jail of the Keweenaw Peninsula and Houghton County at the Eagle River German Hotel and Historic Jail.
