The village of Lake stands between two large bodies of water, Perch Lake and Crooked Lake. Just a few miles west you will find beautiful Eight Point Lake. Winter finds the lakes covered with ice scanties by the cold weather anglers. Set up during the lumbering era primarily as a whistle "stop" along the Pere Marquette railway line, now settled for its naturally beautiful surroundings. The Lake area is that fine mixture of recreational fun, and a great getaway-from-it-all retreat and loaded with natural beauty in every season.
