Moscow is located in Hillsdale County in Southeastern Michigan. Moscow was first called "Little Kalamazoo." But it is said that they got the name Moscow by drawing it out of a hat. It was first inhabited by Indians. The first white man in the area was Silas N.W. Benson who arrived in 1830. The first school house was built by Benjamin Fowle.
