Castle Rock - Under the Radar Michigan

Castle Rock - Under the Radar Michigan

There's not many places that you can get a million dollar view for a buck, but this is one of them. Just north of downtown St. Ignace is Castle Rock, a local landmark that you can actually climb to the top of. It's good exercise, great family fun, and the views are incredible. You can see about 15 miles on a good clear day and view lots of trees and forests, lake Huron to the east, Mackinac Island, and the top of the Mackinac bridge towers are viewable.

St. Ignace is located in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, at the north side of the Mighty Mackinac Bridge. We are Michigan’s second-oldest continuously inhabited city. We were a Native American settlement long before the coming of the French, who were led to the Straits by Father Marquette and Sieur Robert de LaSalle. Rich in cultural & Native American history, St. Ignace lures visitors from all over the world with our unhurried atmosphere surrounded by spectacular beauty. Our downtown business district stretches along the stunning blue shoreline of Lake Huron on Moran Bay. Stroll the beautiful, mile-long Huron Boardwalk along the expansive waterfront and view historical descriptions along the way. St. Ignace is part of the Great Waters of Pure Michigan, offering unparalleled opportunities to enjoy unspoiled beauty, unique history and the Great Lakes of Huron, Michigan and Superior. We offer a variety of events throughout the year for your enjoyment!
