Three Oaks, a Harbor Country® community, is named for massive oaks that stood near a town rail crossing. The town has become quite a cultural center with its fine arts movie theater, a new live performance theater that draws much of its talent from Chicago and several artists’ studios and galleries. In summer, Shakespeare and concerts are performed in the town’s gazeboed park and Three Oaks hosts are area’s annual blues fest. Three Oaks Spokes Club sponsors the Bicycle History Museum and the annual Apple Cider Century bicycle event in late September when more than 7,000 cyclists enjoy 100 miles of Harbor Country trails. Three Oak's hometown pride is evident during it's Flag Day Parade and Celebration in June, the largest of its kind in the country.
