Strawberries have been an important part of the Chassell economy since the early 1920’s and 30’s. Strawberries became such an important part of the local economy that it was decided to recognize the Growers Association with a festival in 1949. This became the first Chassell Strawberry Festival.
A fun event for all, it includes a children's parade and a full parade, live music, a queen competition, a craft/vendor show, children's games, fish boil and other food options and best of all -- the famous Strawberry Shortcake.
