Rec 202: Walleye Fishing In Michigan

Silver Lake State Park
9679 W. State Park Road,
Mears, MI 49436
Description

The Michigan Department of Natural Resources and Fishmas Charters have partnered to offer free walleye fishing seminar at several state parks this summer, a great opportunity to reel in some fishing tips for one of the state's most popular species. The two-hour seminar will include discussion of the seasonal habits of the elusive walleye, proven techniques for finding fish and a question-and-answer session. Captain Ken Clark of Fishmas Charters in Whitehall will teach the classes. Clark has served as a charter boat captain for more than 20 years and is a self-professed "walleye snob". Walleye enthusiasts of all skill levels (beginner through veteran anglers) are invited to take part. Meet in the park day use area. Pre-registration is not necessary, just bring yourself and your questions. For more information please call the park.

Please Note: The Michigan Department of Natural Resources makes every effort to provide the most up-to-date and accurate information on the web calendar. However, dates occasionally change and events may be canceled for any reason. Please call the unit hosting the event to confirm dates and times prior to your arrival.

A Recreation Passport is required for entry into all Michigan state parks and recreation areas. Check "YES" when you renew your license plate at the Secretary of State.
