Wild Cuisine of Old Monroe

126 South Monroe St.,
Monroe, MI 48161
Description
Join us and welcome author & Detroit native Bill Loomis as he presents a program on old foodways from the Monroe and Detroit area, including the well-known French cuisine of that local favorite, the muskrat. Author of several food-related books such as Detroit's Delectable Past, and Detroit Food, he will introduce you to folklore and fact, eating habits and flavors of the past centuries. He has collected regional recipes, cookbooks and other "insignificant stuff" covering 300 years of history and his program is in time with the muskrat dinner season!
