The 17th Annual Voyageur Encampment will be held on Saturday, August 24 and Sunday, August 25 from 10am to 5pm. Learn about and experience the rich history connected with the voyageurs, coureurs de bois, early settlers, American Indians and military of the Great Lakes Fur Trade Era. This re-enactment of the lifestyles and skills of this era will include demonstrations and displays of canoe building, traditional crafts and skills, trade goods and artifacts, blacksmithing, campfire cooking, military life, cannons and weaponry, and much more! Come and enjoy music and dance, stories and lectures, and the sharing of our unique culture and history. The encampment is set up along the West Beach, with access from the Day Sail parking lot and beach. The encampment is free with vehicle entry permit. Preregistration is not required.
