Antique Wooden Boat Show and Festival of Arts

The Les Cheneaux Island Antique Wooden Boat Show at the Hessel Public Marina in Hessel, Michigan, has been a major attraction since it began in 1978. The show averages 150 entries each year and is one of the largest shows featuring antique and classic wooden boats. The Festival of Arts is held in conjunction with the boat show. Artists display and sell a variety of artwork, including photographs, paintings, pottery, stained glass and jewelry. Around 70 of the Midwest's finest artists participate in this juried show. Events include pancake breakfast, Opening Ceremony, and from 10am-5pm Festival of Arts. Entertainment provided throughout the day! Spectators can also board a tour boat that lets you get a little closer to the area's 36 Les Cheneaux Islands on Lake Huron, with two trips leaving from Hessel pier at 12pm and 2:30pm.
