River Raisin National Battlefield Park will be hosting author John Hartig as part of the parks Centennial Series on Sunday, October 2, 2016 at 2pm.

"Bringing Conservation to Cities: Lessons from Building the Detroit River International Wildlife Refuge" is Mr. Hartig's latest book published by Michigan State University Press in 2014. His book as won a Gold Medal from the Nonfiction Authors Associations in the "Sustainable Living" category and a bronze medal from the Living Now Book Awards in the "Green Living" category.

Mr. Hartig is the Refuge Manager for the Detroit River International Wildlife Refuge. He authored or co-authored over 100 publications on the environment. Mr. Hartig is trained as a limnologist with 30 years of experience in Great Lakes science.
