Cirque Mechanics
Be captivated as aerialists fly high spinning ageless stories in mid-air, set to some of the most beautiful Symphonic music ever written. The mechanics and machinery of the circus will be revealed with Cirque Mechanics, a show making its worldwide symphonic debut in Grand Rapids. Watch as aerialists and acrobats perform on the Gantry Bike, a giant, moving contraption never before seen in a concert hall. Circus acrobatics, mechanical wonders and a bit of clowning around will be accompanied by the Grand Rapids Symphony performing orchestral favorites including Mozart’s Le Nozze de Figaro, Copland’s Fanfare for the Common Man and Dukas’ Sorcerer’s Apprentice.
