Field of Flags
The Field of Flags is a traveling memorial to the fallen soldiers of the Iraq and Afghanistan wars. It was started eight years ago in Somers, Connecticut. and has been to numerous cities on the east coast. This will be the first time the flags have been west of Pennsylvania. The display is on the front lawn of the Farmington Hills Church of God (25717 Power Rd; Farmington Hills, Michigan 48336)and contains a flag planted for each military casualty of those wars. A display board will also list their names. It will be open to the public from May 4th to May 27th. Closing ceremony at 7pm on Memorial Day, May 27.
