Holidays at the Homestead
Sunday, December 9, 1-4 pm. Bring your family to the beautifully decorated DeLano Homestead, 555 W. E Avenue to step back in time. Join in the celebration as you explore the 1858 farmhouse and enjoy holiday traditions such as making gingerbread cookies and crafts. Listen to acoustic music while relaxing in the parlor. Take a stroll to the 1830s log cabin replica to glimpse life during a Michigan winter in the wilderness and try your hand at candle making. Enjoy a horse-drawn wagon ride (weather permitting) and afterwards warm up with warm cider and a cookie. Watch skilled spinners, weavers and blacksmiths demonstrate their crafts and learn about natural products they use. Free for members. For nonmembers adults are $7, seniors $6, and children and students (4-17) are $4. Children three and under are free. For more information call (269) 381-1574.
