Scriabin's sonata no. 1 is regarded as his youthful experiments, under the influence of Chopin, his distinctive sonorities and expressions representing personal human emotions with recurring thematic materials contributes this sonata as his significant early creation. Pianist Jin Hwa Lee (DMA Candidate, University of Michigan) will give her lecture and performance on Scirabin's first sonata. Admission is free.
