Held at the Kalamazoo Expo Center on Friday 4-8pm, Saturday 10am to 6pm, and Sunday 10am to 5pm. This year's theme, " A World of Agates" will add an extra dimension of interest to the show as agates cannot only be very beautiful but fascinating in their geological complexity. At the show explore and discover the world of rocks, minerals, meteorites and fossils. Pick a gem, select a setting and take home a unique piece of jewelry unlike any other in town. Pan for gold, learn about silver smithing, play a game, polish a Petoskey stone, crack open a geode, build a mineral collection, search out fossils, buy some beads; all this and more can be done at the Kalamazoo Rock, Gem, Fossil and Mineral Show. Learn about geology through the many KGMS members' displays; solar viewing by the Astronomical Society (weather permitting), hands on educational activities provided by Western Michigan University. Adult admission: $3, Children under 12 are Free. Scouts, are free when in uniform.
