Kick off your new year's resolutions or just enjoy some outdoor fun with family and friends at this Shoe Year's Hike. Participants can cross-country ski, snowshoe or hike lantern-lit trails. The lighted trail begins at the park warming shelter located next to the parking lot at the end of State Highway M-116. There are 40 pairs of snowshoes that will be available to borrow on a first come, first-served basis. Snowshoes fit ages 10 and up. Park staff will be on hand to help visitors get started. Participants should dress warmly in layers. A campfire will be available along the trail, where visitors can warm themselves and enjoy a hot beverage. The park will be hosting additional lantern -it ski and snowshoe events on select Saturdays in January and February. For more information about these programs please call 231-843-9261.
