Charles Mears State Park is once again hosting their Annual Fall Volunteer Weekend. Volunteers will be asked to help install snow fences, as well as other tasks such as painting, cleaning fire pits, etc. Volunteers will receive free camping Friday and Saturday night. This is a great opportunity to give back to the park or gain volunteer hours. Saturday evening volunteers will celebrate a job well done with a pot luck dinner. Please bring a dish to pass and your own beverage. For more information, please contact the park Supervisor at 231-869-2051. Volunteers who would like free camping should register with the campground host upon arrival.

Please Note: The Michigan Department of Natural Resources makes every effort to provide the most up-to-date and accurate information on the web calendar. However, dates occasionally change and events may be canceled for any reason. Please call the unit hosting the event to confirm dates and times prior to your arrival.

A Recreation Passport is required for entry into all Michigan state parks and recreation areas. Check "YES" when you renew your license plate. Learn more at www.michigan.gov/recreationpassport.
