Mendelssohn Revisited - Performance
At age 19, Michigan-born violinist Caroline Goulding is one of the youngest and most talented violinists currently on the concert scene. She joins the MSO for Mendelssohn’s perfectly crafted Violin Concerto. Also on the program, the folk-inspired music of Bartok and the first symphony of Mozart’s last three compositions – his “final trilogy” – often hailed as the pinnacle of the composer’s genius. "Playing of fantastic style and flair, with an extraordinary virtuosity that always serves the character of the music. A violinist you must hear!" – Peter Oundjian, conductor. November, 10, 2012 at 8pm. Prelude at 7:15pm. Tickets available August 13, 2012 by calling, (800) 523-7649. For more information, call (989) 631-5930.
