Mingling with the Monarch Butterflies: Monarch Butterfly Tagging
The Monarch Butterfly is our only true migratory butterfly. Each year from August to November, they journey from the northern U.S. and southern Canada to their winter roosts in south-central Mexico. We’ll briefly interrupt the monarch’s migration to put tiny tags on their wings, which will help researchers understand the amazing migration of this butterfly.
Join Denny Brooks at the Lanigan Pavilion at the Homestead Road turnaround and learn about Monarch Butterflies at this drop-in program. Butterfly nets will be available. Free admission. 10am-2pm. In case of rain, the program will be rescheduled for Sunday, September 1.
