With the help of the community, the Muskegon Winter Sports Council made many improvements to the iconic Blockhouse Hill. The improvements included resurfacing the walls (interior and exterior) and a new sidewalk around the structure. It is a goal of the Friends of Muskegon State Park to continue the work of the Sports Council and improve the trailheads leading to and from the Blockhouse Hill. We ask you and your family to join us on Saturday, September 24th 2016 for National Public Lands Day. Please meet at the Blockhouse Hill at 9 a.m. for instructions from the Friends Group volunteers and park employees. We ask that you come ready to work and bring rakes, shovels, gloves, sunscreen and lots of water as we will be removing and replacing old trail foundations.
