Carve a Finnish "Shaving Tree" (Curly Evergreen) with Pekka (Peter) Olson $23 Class Fee + $5 Materials Cost = $28 Total Fee Saturday, Oct. 15 from 1 to 4 p.m. ET Students will use a knife to carve a "curly" tree from cedar, bass, or large-tooth aspen wood. Bring gloves to wear while carving. You may bring a small-blade, sharp hunting knife, or purchase a Mora carving knife for $16. When you register please indicate if you would like to purchase a knife. There are 10 spaces available and 6 students are needed to hold the class. Classes are held at the Porcupine Mountains Folk School at Porcupine Mountains Wilderness State Park (near Union Bay Campground). The class registration deadline is Oct. 10.
