Triangle Tree Applique Wall Art with Wayne Walma
$45 Class Fee + $15 Materials Cost = $60 Total Fee
Saturday, Oct. 29 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. ET
Students will ‘peg' triangular pieces of hardwood to a backing board to make a piece of wall art. The basics of wood appliqué will be explained and practiced. Students will cut, sand, and applique the triangles following their own design. Ideas and suggestions for finishing will be discussed. An additional piece may be made as time, material and interest permit. Creativity and fun in a relaxed and supportive atmosphere is the goal.
Students 16 and older, with any skill level and a desire to learn are welcome. Students may bring hand held sanding blocks, hand spring clamps, small hammer, side cutter, electric/battery drill or razor knife. There will be tools to share, but additional tools will be helpful. Material fee includes a drill bit. There are 12 spaces available and 6 students are needed to hold the class.
Classes are held at the Porcupine Mountains Folk School at Porcupine Mountains Wilderness State Park (near Union Bay Campground). The class registration deadline is Oct. 19. Register online at www.porkies.org/folk-school, call 906-884-7663 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
