Traverse Symphony Orchestra and Grammy-nominated violin soloist Caroline Goulding will perform a spectacular rendition of two of Ludwig van Beethoven’s greatest works—the Violin Concerto in D major and Symphony No. 7. Two concerts take place on Saturday, May 11 at 7:30pm and Sunday, May 12 at 3pm in the First Congregational Church in Traverse City (6105 Center Rd; Traverse City, Michigan 49686). At only 20 years old, Goulding has been hailed by critics as a “precociously gifted virtuoso” who is “vibrant and intensely musical” and has performed with noteworthy symphonies across the US and internationally. The Violin Concerto is one of the most demanding works in the violin repertoire, while Beethoven himself spoke of the celebratory seventh symphony as one of his best works.
