Archive: This is an archive of a July 17, 2015 event at the Detroit Zoo. You’re welcome to replay this recording of the video, and visit michigan.org/live for upcoming events.
You’re invited to join viewers from around the world on a virtual trip to the Detroit Zoo, the first zoo in the United States to use open natural exhibits and home to North America’s largest polar bear exhibit.
Featuring 125 acres of naturalistic exhibits with 2,500 mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians and invertebrates of 280 different species, the Detroit Zoo is a must-see attraction in Michigan.
Now’s your chance to enjoy a free, real-time tour with an interactive travel guide as you visit giraffes, monkeys, polar bears, zebras and more! Pure Michigan has partnered with Georama to livestream audio and video from the zoo, including two-way interactivity where viewers can ask questions and respond to the tour guide operating the camera.
Log on to michigan.org/live using a desktop, laptop or tablet on Friday, July 17 from 12 noon to 2 pm Eastern. For the best viewing experience, log on using a desktop, laptop or tablet (for some mobile devices, the functionality may be limited).
Tom Daldin, host of PBS show Under the Radar Michigan, will be your tour guide as you virtually explore the zoo in real-time. Tom will answer your questions, take suggestions on what to see and do, and react to viewers in real time. Interested in seeing how it works? Watch last month's recording when Tom and viewers visited Mackinac Island.
