Lansing, MI - The 2008 Michigan Travel Ideas magazine is now available free of charge from Travel Michigan, the state's tourism promotion office (michigan.org). The 120-page, full-color travel guide is packed with tips for exploring the Great Lakes State in all four seasons.
"Michigan Travel Ideas features wonderful articles and photography complemented by handy recreation guides and additional resources for planning any type of trip to our state, whether it's a getaway weekend to a city or a week-long outdoor adventure," said George Zimmermann, Vice President of Travel Michigan.
2008 Issue Highlights
One of this issue's feature stories takes readers on The Ultimate Driving Tour, a cruise through automotive history as the state celebrates the centennial of the Ford Model T and General Motors, and another article chronicles a family's first-time RV trip across Michigan. New Wave reveals the pleasures of the state's Sunrise Side on the eastern Lower Peninsula, and the ladies-only getaway described in You Go Girls uncovers great shopping and eating in the Grand Rapids and Holland areas.
Food and wine lovers will appreciate the Art of Wine for tips on following four wine trails, and 75 Tastes of Michigan for good eats across the state, from Polish specialties at Legs Inn in Cross Village to the Friday night fish fry at Rigoni's Tavern in Ironwood. Actor Jeff Daniels, rocker Bob Seger and others share their favorite golf courses in 18 Holes.
