Since the early 1880’s the first Monday of September has been recognized as a time to salute America’s workers with picnics and parades on "a day off for the working man." With school starting after the Monday, September 5 holiday, the long Labor Day Weekend is an ideal time to squeeze in some last-minute summertime fun.

The amazing variety of colors in the waters around Traverse City is caused by sunlight reflecting up from the sandy bottom through the crystal-clear water.
