The Camp Grayling Historical Society, top military dignitaries, Michigan elected officials, and the public join more than 4,000 Michigan service men and women to celebrate the camp’s 100th anniversary. Founded in 1913, Camp Grayling is the main training facility for the Michigan National Guard and is the largest National Guard training facility in the nation. On July 20, 2013, this historic premier military installation will host a one-day anniversary celebration to highlight a number of military, patriotic and Michigan outdoor discovery displays. Some of the festivities include exhibitions, hands-on activities and receptions including:
• Historical Michigan military vehicles on display
• 1913 Cannon
• Historical Exhibition of life in 1913
• Michigan Outdoors Discovery
• Tastes of Summer
The Camp Grayling Centennial Celebration will also feature a kid’s area, live entertainment, fireworks and beverage tents.
