Michigan Brewing Company produces award-winning beers at its brewery in Webberville, and serves them up at the on-site pub as well as at their pub in downtown Lansing. On Saturday evening, June 19 the Brewery hosts its 4th annual 5K Beer Run, a benefit event open to individual and “six pack” teams of a half-dozen runners.
June 19 is also the date of Founders Fest ‘10: A Celebration of Beer & Music, 3-11 p.m. in downtown Grand Rapids. The 3rd annual event is hosted by Founders Brewing Company, which is known for its unconventional approach to its brews, and recently brought home four medals from the 2010 World Beer Cup competition.
Back-to-back celebrations, Festival of the Moon, 6-11 p.m., Friday, June 25 and Festival of the Sun, 2-10 p.m., Saturday, June 26 feature beer, wine, and food tastings and live music in Lansing’s Old Town. Purchase a pass for either event or save with a $25 weekend pass.
The following weekend Michigan International Speedway in Brooklyn, home of NASCAR races in June and August, hosts the inaugural Great Lakes Wine Fest---which also showcases Michigan beer and foods and live entertainment. Tickets are sold for either June 26 or 27, or as a combination weekend pass.
Last year’s Traverse City Summer Microbrew and Music Festival was so successful that the 2nd annual event has been expanded to a two-day “celebration of craft beer, local harvest and live music,” August 27-28 at the Village at Grand Traverse Commons. An eclectic line-up of live music will accompany more than 50 breweries will pouring their best.
