Michigan has one of the largest networks of interconnected snowmobile trails in the US, with 6,200 miles of designated trails across state and national forest and privately owned lands that offer traditional and open snow experiences.
Have a need for speed? Take part in snowcross events hosted by the Upper Peninsula Powersports Extreme Racing (U.P.P.E.Racing) and the Michigan Snow X Racing Association events at several Michigan venues.
Watch the sledding action of the February 25-26 Munising 300 snowmobile race of the US Cross Country Snowmobile Racing Association, and the Great Lakes Antique Snowmobile Series events February 26-27 in Newberry and the Sault Ste. Marie Tired Iron 150, March 12-13.
Check out fine examples and the history of motorized snow sleds at the Top of the Lake Snowmobile Museum in the UP Lake Michigan town of Naubinway.
