In a salute to Wine Month, Michigan wineries and restaurants are hosting wine education seminars, cooking classes, wine introductions and a “meet the winemaker” series in April. Check the Michigan Wines calendar of events and note:
Allow enough time to visit the eight wineries of the Southeast Michigan Pioneer Wine Trail, which will serve either an appetizer or dessert paired with one of their wines during the Michigan Wine Celebration April 17-18.
A dozen wineries (plus their off-site tasting rooms) make up the Lake Michigan Shore Wine Trail in southwest area of the state. Toast the Coast at the Lake Michigan Shore Wine Festival June 19 at Weko Beach in Bridgman.
The seven Wineries of Old Mission Peninsula, nestled in the middle of Grand Traverse Bay on the 45th parallel, celebrate the season with Blossom Days, May 15-16.
Brunch and wine combine at the 18 members of the Leelanau Peninsula Vintners Association for the annual Spring Sip & Savor celebration May 1-2.
The Sunrise Side Wine & Hops Trail is a self-guided driving tour to wineries, a brewpub, historic saloon, restaurants and attractions in the northeast Lower Peninsula.
