Lights, camera, action--ready for a close-up? Michigan is gaining notoriety in the film industry and attracting more and more producers, directors and top billing actors to our state. The list of feature films, television series and digital media productions continues to grow and we’d like to invite you to take a self-guided tour to some of the locations that caught the camera’s eye.
The Motor City has been the setting for more than 60 feature films, television series and other digital media productions. Films like Beverly Hills Cop, Four Brothers, Alex Cross, Red Dawn and Sparkle are just some of the big screen flicks filmed in the city. Many of the locations are featured in the Detroit Film Locations Tour map. The tour starts and finishes at the GM Renaissance Center with 15 stops along the way, and the map highlights other notable film locations as well as a wide number of other tour opportunities available in Detroit.
Ann Arbor and the surrounding communities have also served as the background for more than 30 film projects. You can check out many of the featured locations in the Ann Arbor Film Locations Tour Map.
