Hungry for something new this summer? Mark your calendar for August 14-24 and prime your taste buds for Restaurant Week GR 2013!
Now in its third successful year, Restaurant Week serves up creative dishes from the area’s finest chefs, all at an incredible bargain: $25 for a three-course meal – or two meals for $25 (at select restaurants).
This year’s event focuses once again on farm-to-fork dining. Chefs will showcase the summer harvest by using ingredients grown, produced and raised on local family farms. From plump, juicy berries to luscious, vine-ripe tomatoes, from just-harvested grass-fed beef to artisanal farmstead cheeses, diners will enjoy the freshest, most flavorful foods West Michigan has to offer.
Whether you’re in the mood for a burger or a steak, seafood or pasta, or vegetarian or gluten-free selections, you’ll find it during Restaurant Week. It’s also the perfect opportunity to be adventurous and try new restaurants, cuisines and dishes. With prices this low, you can dine out repeatedly during the 11-day event!
You can top off your meals with fantastic wines, brews, spirits and coffees. Sample the craft beers that have earned Grand Rapids the title “Beer City U.S.A.” for two years’ running.
More than 65 restaurants are participating this year, 14 of them for the first time. Newcomers include some of the city’s most distinctive ethnic restaurants, including El Granjero Mexican Grill, named Best Mexican/Caribbean Restaurant by readers of Grand Rapids magazine.
Other noteworthy participants include The Cottage Bar & Restaurant (home to Michigan’s best burger, according to USA Today); Grove (lauded by New York magazine for its dessert expertise); HopCat (named America’s best brewpub by Rate Beer); San Chez (one of Hispanic magazine’s top 50 Hispanic restaurants in the U.S.); and Stella’s Lounge (GQ magazine’s choice for America’s best burger).
You can find all the participating restaurants and their Restaurant Week menus listed online. Browse the choices and make your reservations soon – this is an incredibly popular event and space is limited.
