Mt. Brighton Ski and Golf is featuring new, progressive terrain parks with over-rails, boxes, and jumps, serviced by two surface lifts and one chairlift. Alpine Valley in White Lake has expanded its snowmaking capabilities and enlarged their terrain parks as well. They have also purchased a new fleet of rental skis. Pine Knob Resort of Clarkston has been working to lower the ski area’s energy footprint by installing low-energy lighting, energy-efficient glass and vapor barriers at doors. They also made some major improvements to their Chair #5 by installing a new state-of-the-art bull wheel, which allows the chair to run at variable speeds.
At Mt. Holly skiers will notice a difference in the front of the lodge. They have added a three-story tower-shaped foyer to make the entrance easier to negotiate and enhance its appearance. Slope side, Mt. Holly added a heated patio and fireplace for outdoor enjoyment, expanded their snowboard park and invested in 12 new snow guns, bringing their total to 123.
