Winter Free Fishing Weekend

Winter Fishing on the IceAre you looking for something fun and free to do this winter? The Michigan Department of Natural Resources (DNR) is gearing up to hold its annual Winter Free Fishing Weekend is scheduled February 16- 17. On that weekend, all fishing license fees are waived for residents and out-of-state visitors alike. Make plans to enjoy fishing on Michigan’s inland and Great Lakes' waters. Although license fees are waived, all other fishing guidelines will still be enforced.

Communities and organizations like constituent groups, schools, local and state parks and businesses across the state are set to host a variety of Winter Free Fishing Weekend events.
So, grab a fishing rod, a bait bucket, and a pair of hand warmers and head out on the ice this February. You might just catch a little fun along with you winter fish catch.
