While in the Motor City for the auto show, it’s a good time to visit automotive-related attractions in the region. A sampling of sites includes the historic and classic car collections at The Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn, the Walter P. Chrysler Museum in Auburn Hills and in Detroit, the towering General Motors Renaissance Center. The Automotive Hall of Fame in Dearborn pays tribute to those who’ve contributed to the industry. The Homes of the Auto Barons Fair Lane Manor, the Dearborn home of Henry Ford; his son’s lakeside estate, the Edsel & Eleanor Ford House in Grosse Pointe Shores; and the grandiose Meadow Brook Hall, built by Matilda Dodge Wilson in Rochester. These and other auto attractions are included in the MotorCities National Heritage Area.
