The mission of the AuSable Artisan Village (AAV) is to initiate and support art and cultural activities that enrich lives, stimulate creativity, vitalize the economic climate of the community and serve as a catalyst for artistic excellence throughout the AuSable/Manistee watershed region.
The AuSable Artisan Village was created in 2010. The AAV Art Center opened on Memorial Day 2011 and is housed in a 5,000 square foot facility showcasing over 50 artists, in the heart of downtown Grayling.
The AAV Art Center offers educational facilities, an art gallery, and a performance stage. The AAV Art Center Gallery features the work of artists from the Grayling area and Northern Michigan.
A variety of Art Classes are offered at the AAV Art Center to children and adults throughout the year. Through the generosity of the Grayling Youth Booster Scholarship Fund and the Kiwanis Scholarship Fund, scholarships are available for children ages 6 to 12 to enable them take art classes. All are welcome.
